Chapter Two

LATER THAT DAY

Sonakshi was returning from her classmate's place after group studies for her last paper...she was quite content as she had been able to complete quite a lot of her portion well in advance and just had a few things to revise before she attempts her paper tomorrow...she was waiting for a cab to arrive when her eyes suddenly caught a sight she wished she had never seen...did she just see Natasha with some guy almost clinging to each other...she looked at her watch and concluded that she must have finished her lunch with Dev and them had caught hold of this guy to spend the rest of the day with...she immediately dialed Dev's number to ensure whether it was him in the car in Natasha or she had actually seen an altogether different person.
"Bunny...where are u?...ghar pe hai ki bahar?"...she enquired...mind totally busy in noting the direction in which Natasha's car was moving...a not-so-interested Dev answered on the other side..."haan Cheeku ghar pe hi hoon...bas aaj Nats ke saath lunch karke aaya hoon...aur kahin bahar jaane ka mann nahin kar raha mera...tu bata tune kyun call kiya tha?...tu to Divya ke ghar pe group studies keliye jaane waali thi na...kya hua tujhe ghar aane keliye taxi nahin mil rahi hai...tu wahi ruk main aata hoon"...Sona sensed the displeasure in his initial conversation as she decided to put an end to her talk..."nahin Bunny main ghar pohunch gayi hoon...bas aise hi call kiya tha tujhe...chal tu rest kar...main tujhse kal milti hoon...bye"
She cut the call as she noticed Natasha's car stop infront of a 5-star hotel...following them stealthily she managed to hide behind a bench outside the hotel... the sight which met her eyes was a really disgusting one...Natasha was full-on smooching that guy who was busy grabbing her assets as this shameless creature was moaning against his lips, sitting herself on his lap...Sona realized that Natasha was so desperate to make-out with that guy that she couldn't even wait to get inside the hotel room and had started with her foreplay inside the car itself... characterless would be a lesser word to describe her...one side she was dating Dev for the past one year and here she was getting intimate with some other guy...Sona quickly pulled out her cell-phone and recorded the scene she had just witnessed as she was sure Dev won't believe her without a solid proof in any matter related to Natasha...ending their mini-foreplay in the car the two got down and walked hand - in-hand inside the hotel...Sona managed to successfully get inside the hotel lobby and listen to their talks ...the conversation which took place between the manager of the hotel and Natasha gave her a insight that Natasha was actually a regular customer of theirs...all these days she had a doubt that Natasha was cheating Dev over some other boy but today she realized that Natasha keeps on changing her escort on a daily basis...the receptionist handed over the keys to Natasha as they walked cozying up with each other into the lift...Sona decided to end this matter today itself ...Dev had to be informed about Natasha's infidelity...she would not allow her Bunny to get into a serious relationship with such a bi**h... finishing her job she sneaked out of the place before anybody could notice her.

DEV'S ROOM

Here Dev was disturbed with the incident which took place sometime ago when he was out with his Natasha...he simply couldn't understand the reason behind her impulsive behavior.

They had just finished their lunch at their favorite restaurant and had just got back to the car to get back home when an action of Natasha simply scared the daylights out of him...as he was about to start the engine Natasha placed her right hand over his left as if indicating him to stop doing so...their car was parked in the basement parking of the restaurant and it was quite a dark and lonely place to admit...as Dev turned his head towards her to find out what she was upto she suddenly grabbed him by his collar and brought her face extremely close to his ...very much to his inconvenience...he just turned his face away slightly to prevent his lips from touching hers as she huskily whispered to him.
"Dev...tum humesha mujhse dur kyun bhagte rehte ho...kya tum mujhe pyaar nahin karte...kya tumhe mere liye waisa feel nahin hota jaise main tumhare liye karti hoon?"...Dev just felt the need to push her away from himself as the idea of getting intimate with your partner before marriage was something he was never in favor of...but somewhere deep down he was scared of hurting her as he was sure she also loved him a lot like he did...trying to get a control over the situation he replied back..."aisi koi baat nahi hai Natasha, of-course main tumse bohot jyaada pyaar karta hoon...par baat bas itni si hai ki yeh sab shaadi se pehle...you know I don't like all this"...the wicked lady that she was she had decided to seduce Dev to her maximum capability today as she wanted him to be guilty of using her and then be forced to marry her ...as she already had an idea that Sona was very well aware of her facade she was scared that Dev might end up losing him forever.
"par kyun Dev ismein galat hi kya hai...hum dono ek dusre se pyaar karte hai...ek dusre ke saath rehna chahte hai...aur mujhe yakeen hai ki kuch dino mein tum humari shaadi ki baat apne gharwaalon se kar loge...phir yeh sab galat kaise hua Dev...aur kuch nahi to atleast hum ek durse ko kiss to kar hi sakte hai na...please Dev mana mat karna...I really need this Dev...main tumse aur jyaada dur nahin reh sakti"...saying so she leaned in to kiss Dev as in that very moment Dev snapped out of his reverie and pushed Natasha away from him..."please Natasha, yeh sab mujhse nahin hoga...I insist yeh job hi hona hai humari shaadi ke baad hi hoga...aur rahi humari shaadi ki baat to main kal hi mom-dad se baat karta hoon...I promise ki hum bohot jald shaadi karenge...but till then you have to stay away from me sweetheart"...Dev placed a slight kiss on her forehead as Natasha was seething in anger but refused to show it off...Dev dropped her home in a hurry as he locked himself in his room for the rest of the day.

Dev picked up his phone and dialed Sona's number as before speaking to his parents he had to speak with his bestie...he had to know what she felt about this entire matter of his marriage with Natasha and he was sure she will support him infront of his parents in case they refuse to give in to his demands.
"Cheeku...tujhse baat karni hai...aadhe ghante mein tere ghar ke neeche milta hoon...I know kal tera exam hai but still we need to talk...it's urgent"...Dev tried to explain the seriousness of the situation to Sona who had just arrived after her mission at the hotel..."baat to mujhe bhi karni hai tujhse Bunny...tu aaja, milte hai"...saying so she cut the call as Dev drove in jet speed to her place.
Sona was all prepared that today she would show Natasha's true face to Dev...she carried her phone along as she might need it to show the proof she had captured to Dev...when Dev arrived she ran down to meet him but before she could tell him anything the piece of information he shared with her shook her roots...
"main Natasha se shaadi karna chahta hoon Cheeku...main ab aur uske bina nahin reh sakta...woh bhi aaj bohot upset thi...maine socha hai ki kal subah hi mom-dad se baat karunga...and I need you to be by my side jab main yeh baat karunga...so jaise hi tere exams khatam honge tu fatafat ghar aaja...samajh rahi hai na main kya keh raha hoon"...he held Sona by her shoulders and shook her as she appeared dazed listening to his talks...she clutched her phone in her hands as she dreaded the worst...she wished to tell him the truth but she was scared he will be shattered ...she decided to push this matter further for a few more days as she would get some more time to reveal the truth.
"par Bunny...yeh sab achanak...I mean subah to tumne kuch bhi discuss nahin kiya iss bare mein...abhi yeh sab...I know ki tum bohot pyaar karte ho Natasha se par tumhe nahin lagta ki yeh sab bohot jaldi ho raha hai...I mean tumhe nahi lagta ki tum dono ko kuch aur samay ek dusre ke saath bitana chahiye...ek dusre ko thoda aur samajhana chahiye isse pehle ki apni life ka itna bada decision lo?"...she wished her trick worked and Dev would put his marriage plans on hold for sometime...but guess her luck was really against her today.
"jaldbaazi kaisi Cheeku...pichle ek saal se hum dono date kar rahe hai...aur itna to ek dusre ko jaan hi gaye hai ki shaadi ka decision le sake...main kuch nahin jaanta...bass tu kal exam ke baad turant ghar pohunch jaana...baaki sab main handle kar loonga"...before she could say anything Dev just hugged her and wished her good night as well as luck for her last paper and drove back to his place...Sona stood there all confused as to what should be next move to prevent Dev from getting hitched to Natasha.
Next day after her exams got over Sona hurriedly went to Dixit Niwas...on the way she received a call from Dev to confirm if she has already left...on entering the living room she saw Dev sitting along with Ishwari and Jay, his sisters not seen in the vicinity...Dev looked up to her for support as she moved in and stood closer to him...Dev cleared his throat to grab attention..."Mom-Dad woh main aapse kuch baat karna chahta hoon...woh actually pichle ek saal se main ek ladki se pyaar karta hoon aur usse shaadi karna chahta hoon...aur mujhe yaqueen hai ki aap dono mere iss faisle se agree karoage"...Ishwari's face fell in an instance dreading the most...she dreaded what she would do if Dev wished to marry Sona...while Jay had a serene look on his face...he wished Dev would select Sona as his life partner.
"kiski baat kar raha hai tu Dev?...kaunsi ladki se shaadi karna chahta hai tu?"...Ishwari tried to kill her doubt..."us ladki ka naam Natasha Gujral hai maa, mere saath mere college mein padhti thi, pichle ek saal se hum dono saath hai...aur ab shaadi karna chahte hai"...Dev clarified as Ishwari was relieved to know that it was not Sona whom Dev wished to marry ...at the same time Jay was disheartened as he had always wanted Sona to officially become a part of their family..."par Dev beta yeh ladki tere liye sahi hai ya nahin yeh baat humein kaise pata chalegi?...tu humara iklauta beta hai, aise kaise kisi ko jaane bina teri shaadi usse kar doon...woh ladki Natasha job hi hai, uska ghar, gharwale sab kahan hai...mujhe unse milna hai"...he tried hard to maintain his composure and not to reveal how sad he was at the moment..."Dad, Natasha ka iss duniya mein koyi nahin hai...but believe me dad who bohot acchi ladki hai...aur iss ghar ko bohot acche se apnayegi".
"haan haan Jay, ab jab Dev keh raha hai ki woh ladki acchi hai to phir hum kyun inn sab jhamelo mein ulajh rahe hai...mere liye to mere bete ki khushi sabse badkar hai...agar Dev usse shaadi karna chahta hai to mujhe koi aitraaz nahin hai"...Ishwari very well knew what Jay wished for regarding Dev and Sona's relationship and she vowed to herself to not let this happen.
"maan jayiye na dad...Natasha sachmein acchi ladki hai...agar aapko mujhpar yakeen nahin hai to Cheeku ...I mean Sona se pooch lijiye...woh jaanti hai Natasha ko"...elbowing Sona as she stood lost in her thoughts Dev asked her..."Cheeku bol na...tujhe yahaan bhoot banke khade rehne keliye thodi na bulaya tha"..."haan Sona bacche bol...kya woh ladki sahi mayine mein tere dost keliye sahi hai?"...Jay encouraged Sona to speak as he knew Sona would never wish ill for Dev.
Finally gathering courage and deciding to put an end to the wrongs that were supposed to happen in Dev's life she spoke up..."nahin uncle...Natasha Bunny keliye bilkul sahi nahin hai...mujhe nahin lagta ki Bunny ko usse shaadi karni chahiye"...she spoke in one breath as Jay and Ishwari starred at her in utter disbelief ...while Dev looked on hurt and cheated...his eyes shooting daggers at her...as if questioning her for her disloyal behavior.
