It is nice that Sony is being different. However, at the end of the day it is a business. A business sells a product that is in demand. What is the point making different shows when they are not in demand? This is why Sony shows don't work. They are so unique that they narrow down thier market audience. When the TRP's don't work for a new show then they revert the show's format to twists and turns which doens't appeal to the orignal viewers who started watching the programme. This in turn decreases the TRPs even more.
My suggestion is first of all increase the number of shows from 7 to 11 pm. There are no good shows during 7 - 8 band and from 10.30 to 11.00 pm. Love story needs to go! It isn't for Sony; I think it was made for SAB. Even if the new shows don't click, your viewership on the whole will increase.
My next suggestion would be to have at least 1 saas bahu show and 1 family show. The top channels have these shows. Star has Kyunki and Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki. Zee has Dulhan and Betiyaan. So Sony must have these shows, they are in demand, but Sony's version of these shows must be even more appealing then Zee TV and Star's Saas Bahu shows to gain viewserhip.
The show that is replacing Virrudh seems to be going in the correct direction. I was at my Aunt's house when the promo came up. She watches Zee all the time. When the promo came it grabbed her attention straight away, and after the promo she said, "Someone remind me when this show airs."
