All it takes is a flop for the claws to be out

and that is what is happening here post Rangoon recent being karan voicing his displeasure

now come to kangana and what she says..i absolutely applaud her guts to say things which are very evident and true and i am sure so do many

but..is it a right move career wise?

not only BW..any profession runs on networking..contacts..even if you don't have..making those contacts

let me put it in a simple example

I work in a multinational company..hypothetically..i am well aware the company is allowing easy entry for the manager's son or the CEO' son where as those sans contacts are put through heavy tests which are very difficult to clear.

I am an outsider in the company who now holds a credible position..I am well aware so are others of the nepotism happening within the company..would I go to my CEO and throw this at his face?

how many of us will do that knowing that CEO has probably gotten his own son in through the same ..and if I do..will I not be making a huge blunder professionally? no matter how well I work..the CEO is responsible for my promotion and he may not now

kangana here is doing the same with these giants. The giants as she calls..who have been here since years and years..

the problem is that she happens to think she is one of these giants too now but that is far from truth..rangoon's opening alone pretty much tells that

If even she is winning people's heart..why couldn't these people (let alone making rangoon a hit coz the movie was not well received) at least gave it a decent opening?

we all work in shrewd industries..

we all may have loads of talent but not only BW..any other industry even will have these traits of favoring the insider. As wrong as it is..we really have to see..are we really in a place to attack almost each and everyone? Can we afford that? Networking is vital in any profession and if we are targetting (no doubt rightly) almost every one..we may only be heading for no one who would want to work with us despite the talent..that is unfortunately how it goes..

I feel this is a career suicide..some mincing of words..some level of diplomacy is integral in any profession. I guess we all can answer..like I said how many of us will go and attack each and everyone working in our company even if rightly but still? unless we are the CEO or the owner..we will only be heading for a career suicide and unfortunately kangana is doing the same..

Kjo's kitty..this forum was all about that..fans valiantly tried to keep its relevance in BW.

Do you see ANYONE today wanting to join his kitty?

She was right in this case about nepotism but she has had fights with almost everybody in BW, she is not ready to listen to directors she wants her way so she may have to see the exit door very soon.

I think what people don't realize is that she is well aware of her lack of diplomatic skills, but chooses not to do anything about it because she thinks if she doesn't fight for herself then she will be chewed alive in the industry, which is sort of true. If she hadn't spoken up during the hrithik incident, where would she be? And I really do wish she would employ some sort of diplomacy at times, but it is who she is. Even as a fan, I have wished for her to tone it down. But her blunt and upfront nature is not something you can tone down once and then bring forth the next time you really need it. If she gets rid of her fighting instinct, it's going to be huge loss to her all the same. Because that fighting instinct keeps her kicking when facing people that want to get rid of her.

And despite what you see on media and the overblown headlines, she does have a good relationship with all the directors she works with. They respect her and she respect them back. Sure, certain production houses like Dharma and Yash raj might not want to work with her, but she wouldn't fit their style of cinema anyways. In choosing to go after central characters, she is sacrificing an almost easier path that could come from just working with bigger actors, directors, and khans, but it is a well thought out decision. Despite what people say about kangana, she is very much aware of where she is heading in terms of her professional career though her film choices, though the diplomatic bug keeps coming back to bite her, her blunt nature is an intrinsic part of her that she can't do much about or even chooses to do without.

Though I would REALLY REALLY recommend her not giving so many print interviews. The journalists exploit whatever she says and then put it into a baiting headline without giving a proper context. If she stopped those print interviews, she would be a in way better position. In her video interviews, she is perfectly lovely, it's just the print coming back to bite her. I really wish her PR realized this is where they are going wrong and stopped it.

I don't think she is ever said she is not willing to listen to her directors. That is impossible for an actor do as the director is anchor of any film. She said she would like her directors to listen to her input and have a creative collaboration with her. That's exactly what she did in queen by giving her opinion on changing the dialogues in the opening sequence of the film, then also introducing the kissing scene because she wanted rani to experience passion. These are all her creative inputs and director has the right and power to say yes or no. She is not rigid, she is willing to listen but at the same time, she also wants the director to listen to her inputs and see if they are actually good or not. All her directors have praised this point about her and definitely not seemed resentful.

I believe that always fight battles big enough to matter and small enough to win. In any profession you will have rivals and people trying to pull you down. Kangana did not give any importance to the Sumans and instead pitted herself against Hrithik who didnt know how to handle her. Similarly she didnt fall for it when Karan tried to pit her against Alia as then sympathies would be with Alia the relative newcomer who happened to be in the right place at the right time. But Karan has now pitted himself against her...he the big bad wolf and she the valiant hero. Whom will people support considering we all see unfairness in some form or another.

Yes but if director has a vision and if she does not agree she will not work with them she says which will make it tougher for her in future.
