JNDSD~ My take~ Sunday 5.3.17 Living by wisdom and strength..
Humans across the centuries have been preoccupied with the skills and strategies to live to life safely and to the fullest. Many look to philosophy , faith , traditions, regulations within the social order, or pure simple common sense for guidance, that will give them a good life. To me the episode gives an insight into how humans behave in a crisis situation. Madhav , a minor has been kidnapped. The reaction of his mother is traumatic. However life is all about taking right measures and dealing with worst possible scenario, with the appropriate knack and attitude. The episode also touches upon human efforts , and the simple direct call to the gods. Doing the practical and spiritual side by side, Vividha prays for her son to have wisdom and strength to defend himself against wrong people..
Ravish's professional pragmatic skills kick into place and relevant agencies are informed to follow search procedures. He is wise enough to realize that this will provide a way out of much grief for the highly shaken women. Vividha respects his effort but she has her own support systems too. Thus one sees human efforts doing its own thing, verses the simple direct approach to the deities which faith affords to humans as a choice to pursue. Thus a contrite mother invokes her deities to seek and shield her child against the forces of evil ,by equipping her Madhav with divine wisdom and strength. For its is wisdom that teaches us to check nerves and bank on hope..persevere. For those who wait in a trauma scenario, it's the waiting for a hasty outcome that becomes a challenge ,as Vividha's tears show.
But on this very earth when needy hearts melt before spiritual presence. The wicked's hearts harden even more as seen in Ankit's distant aloofness. But as human's when it comes to our dear close ones our wisdom fails us in discerning their true colour. Vividha , Uma,and Guddi for years through their familial silence protected kailash's domestic abuse. Now it seems Ankit too alludes his mother and sister and probably sees them as blind, naive , stupid women.. who will continue to shield him inadvertently under the mantle of the word family member! On the other hand Ankit by his withdrawn behaviour in the wake of all others under duress, invokes Ravish keen alert wisdom... more so Ankit is under his suspicious scanner.. Sujata is made to show divine wisdom when she categorically advises against the notion of informing Suman about Madhav's kidnapping. As in doing so Sujata possibly averts more harm coming the boys way.
The blocked drive, a car.. where the father's cognitive skills dwindle, as Atharv thinks not much of the shoe.. how can he ? a huge part of his past is amiss and instead of being seen wise, he seems lost in a strange foolishness..It seems the power of contrite supplication provokes divine wisdom in the man without a past. With Atharv its more so common sense ,the gate to his house is blocked by a car! Similarly plugged is the passage to his past memories by someone. Which makes him into a driver of an empty car which refuses to drive ahead, reverse or turn , it remains static.. just like his life is constant and still. Whereas, Atharv gets by in day to day life, there remains within him, a gap in processing and reasoning intuitively. Even after seeing the clue of the child' shoe half peeping out of the car's boot, and lifting the boot to investigate , he still thinks nothing of it . So when , the owner of the car turns up, Atharv is content in getting the car blocking his drive moved. Suman's potions have harmed much more in him , than just his memory ..
The son, Madhav on the other hand, has sound cognitive skills, which assist him in the use of reasoning ,intuition and perception. When panic begins to grip him due to lack of not knowing where he is heading for? Plus the suffocation begins to creep in .. he is wise enough to recall his mothers practical tips in time of distress and hopelessness.. chant spiritual praises of Lord Shiva! as a means to gain wisdom and perseverance . With Madhav locked in the boot..it's his presence of mind and perseverance that sustains him, rather than be stunned by panic...
The foolishness of the unwise parents , make miracles happens as Madhav's prayers are answered . children demand water, which are in the boot instead of a handy within the reach of children. The boot refuses to open from the inside! the boot not opening from the inside shows how some mistakes one makes due to lack of wisdom, have to be repaired there and then rather than at a later date .The driver ,father of the children has to stop the car and collect water bottles from the boot. For Madhav, a wise use of golden opportunity! is worth the escape from the captivity of the boot of this car! The man finding his lost umbrella in the boot, for a rainy day , somewhat figuratively acts a rain cover for Madhav to escape from the boot of the car under cover for safety!
At home in constant prayers Vividha pleads her case, despite suffering loss of dear ones.. this family keeps its spiritual obeisance alive! She demands that the lord has to return her Madhav, as he is the thread that keeps the whole family strewn together in one garland of family love. Again a mother pleads to the deities for Madhav's protection..
Certainly from other drivers out on the road who check out left and right! but not enough on the road ahead! Atharv swerves, screeches and does the emergency stop! He was about to run over this boy in school uniform! walking into the middle of the road from nowhere!! like a road closed ahead barricade sign!! The boy falls on the road! It is not his day , thinks Atharv ,with a raised eyebrow first a car blocks the drive to his house, now this boy comes before his cars way. Atharv jumps out to find out if the boy is hurt! But instead gets a right mouthful from the shirty lad who points out faults in Atharv's car! The father reckons, he can get away with a mere sorry , but the son lays into him with words ! Atharv smiles patronizingly at the defiant big bold eyed boy and when he threatens him by telling his parents about his rudeness! Madhav retorts when they find out what he did! then his mum would smack him well and proper! Madhav refuses ,attention to his bleeding grazed knee! In fact he throws dust in Atharv's face and scoots off and hides .. Atharv decides to leave, fuming inside, while Madhav peeps from behind a vantage point watching this crazy driver walk away... is this divine wisdom that shows by this unsavory incident that these two will have rough encounters and some more rough patches before their relationship assumes the smoothness of a falling into place bond. Both father and son will need wisdom and strength ..meanwhile.
Ever since his puzzling dreams, Atharv is seen to be endowed with a strange type of awareness and sensitivity to danger that lurk around him. He seems to question and challenge more. Now at Vashist household, he pulls the shots , and pulls all away to the dining table. Guddi and Suman rattle with anxiety as Atharv somehow manages to give his drugged soup amiss! Suman reflects, it's as if some divine force is aiding and abetting with this Atharv, in giving her and her assaults some near misses!
The highlight has to be the crazy encounter between the father and son.. the moment they come across each other, the ease with which they have a go at each other is like seeing and hearing a squabble between Vividha and Atharv ! Madhav is a mixture of both their characteristic traits.. its like the best of both of them.. so this is Mahdav who gives as good as he gets!. and the police shares some important information regards Madhav's kidnapping .. hamlet53 6. 3. 17
