Dev's POV
"Aap mere papa kaise ho sakte ho Mr.Dixit?" no matter how hard i tried i could never get rid of those words ringing in my head. My daughter did not want to call me her father ,she thought i wasn't a good father. I won't blame her though. It was my family who had sent Sonakshi back 6years ago. It was my mom to be precise who separated me from my beautiful daughter and my more so beautiful wife. I can't help but smile at how gorgeous Sonakshi looks in changed look. She has grown more beautiful over the years and her changed dressing sense with her new hairstyle is like cherry on the cake. I am so glad she has given those boring sarees n salwar-kameez of her a much needed break.
"Mrs. Ishwari Dixit" she had called maa when i had asked her to permit me to take Suhana with me to meet maa. "How sure are you that you won't get insecure over my daughter and her father's growing fondness. How can i believe that you wouldn't throw my daughter out of your house when your son would love her more than anything?". Bitter truth but truth! I always thought that my maa loved me unconditionally but little did i know or i would say i ignored the fact that she was so insecure about me that she did anything and everything possible to throw that one person of my life who i could call the reason for my existence.
"Mr.Dixit! Was your room always so dull and sad?" Suhana had complained when she was on her tour of the Dixit mansion. I remember her telling that she loved the rooms all bright and colourful with lots of pictures on the wall. I could not help but smile remembering how Sonakshi's room was filled with pictures of Suhana and her. I wish i could tell Suhana that i loved pictures hanging on the dull walls of my room too like the ones we had after our marriage. I have kept them all safe in my cupboard and look at them everyday fondly. Suhana was a blend of me and Sona no doubt! And she was even better at saying "tumi ekdom impossible".I had a hard time controlling myself when she had said that to Golu when he had clumsily dropped his plate. I would always cherish this day.My daughter is a bundle of joy and her today's visit to the Dixit mansion was more like dream to me.
"Bigcha! Why are you staring outside the window? Is someone out there?" i was brought out of my thoughts by none other than my cute Golu who was now lazily sitting on my bed. "No Golu! I was just staring at the stars", i said sitting comfortably with him. "are you sad Bigcha?" he asked. " No Golu ! i am not sad. Why would i be? I had one of the best days of my life today! I cannot be more happy" i said kissing him hard to get a groaning back. "Suhana is not that boring though she is a little bossy!" i chuckled listening to my junior. "are you not happy having a sister Golu? Didn't you have fun with her today?" i asked him. "i am very happy Bigcha and it was so good to have her here Bigcha.But.." he hesitated. "but what Golu?" i asked him making him sit in my lap. "everyone was here today, having great time. But what about big chachi Bigcha?she was not here. I wish she was here. Only then our family would be complete na" Golu said without a pause. Golu was a sensitive kid and something like this coming up from him was nothing to be shocked about. I had so easily blamed Sonakshi for teaching Suhana calling me Mr.Dixit but deep down i knew she would never do something like that. I was roaring at her than requesting her to allow Suhana to come with me. I was so happy when she said yes , hesitant but she agreed. But what about her ?she was nowhere in the picture today. Had she been here too it would have been altogether different and much happier. But this could happen only if the things were good between us. Sonakshi is a beautiful soul and i being Dev Dixit did not leave any chance yelling at her and blaming her for all the sorrows of my life and now, like always, i was repenting over my deeds. I wish i could handle things wisely just like Sonakshi, then my life would not have been what it is today. Believe it or not i can never stop loving her rather i love her even more today but as things have shaped now even a small chat with her is far to be seen.Not just Suhana but i want my Sonakshi back too. What happened in the past cannot be changed, but least we can do is, tone down our anger ,our ego and stop blaming each other.
"I don't know Golu" that's all i could say ."Bigcha, you fulfil all my wishes. I want you to fulfil one more wish of mine too?". " you just need to ask Golu and i would bring the world for you.Though i hope you haven't done anything in the school again." I chuckled. "Huh! No Bigcha i haven't done anything. Ms. Suhana Bose is there to keep a check on me now and neither do i want the world Bigcha. I want my big chachi. I want to meet her bigcha!" i was stunned at his wish and realised i was crying when golu wiped the tears trailing down my cheeks. "you want to meet your big chachi? Really Golu?"i asked him happily . "yes bigcha! Suhana met her father and you met your daughter, then why not me? I want to meet my big chachi too." I couldn't stop myself from hugging my little man. "do you wanna talk to her? I can dial her number for you but you will have to talk to her" i said earning a big nod from him.
"Hello" said a confused Sonakshi from the other side. We had my phone on the speaker."uh Hi! My name is Ronit Tripathi but you can call me golu!" "aww! Hi Golu !Do you want to talk to suhana?" sonakshi asked merrily . "No! I wanted to talk to you. It is Sunday tomorrow and i am hoping you will be free tomorrow. So can you meet me tomorrow?" " umm Ok Golu.I can happily take out some time to meet you" Sonakshi said. "Great ! bigcha will tell you where to meet then. I need to sleep now. Bye!" saying golu ran out of the room excitedly. "uh! Sonakshi, Golu wished to meet you and i couldn't really say no.. " i was cut off by her "It's fine dev. I would love to meet him too." " okay then! I will message you the time and place. Goodnight". I was happy would be an understatement. I was overwhelmed by the thought of meeting the two important ladies of my life and was as excited as golu was.
"Bigcha! What took you so long?" Golu literally dragged me out of the house and in no time we reached the restaurant we had decided to meet at and have our lunch. There she was my little angel in her cute baby pink frock with her hair left open wearing some floral headband. Her mother was looking ever so gorgeous in that maroon blouse top with grey cigarette pants. Golu quickly ran to the table hugging Suhana and shaking hands with sonakshi. " Heya Mr.dixit" my heart ached listening to Suhana addressing me that but i couldn't let my emotions ruin the day. "hello there Angel" Suhana gritted her teeth over this which she referred as baby talk but later agreed that i could call her angel. Soon enough Golu and Suhana switched places and now Suhana was sitting beside me and Golu beside Sonakshi. He wanted to bond with his big chachi , which gave me the opportunity to know my little angel more and talk to her.
"Do you mind if i call you big chachi"? Golu asked Sonakshi in between their whisper talks. They were chatting like they knew each other since ages and to admit Golu had a different spark in his eyes today. Sonakshi was surprised by his request but she couldn't help but agree to my junior " offcourse Golu! You can call me whatever you want" and with that Golu gave her a bone crashing hug. I could see her eyes shinning with tears. All my dreams were coming true finally and i couldn't thank god anymore. "Mr.Dixit would you like to come to my house some day with Golu? We can have a lot of fun together?" Suhana asked with her twinkling eyes set at me. "but bacha! Would your dadu like the idea of me coming to your house? And your mumma?" " don't worry about mumma! She said i could spend as much as i want with you. And dadu! Me and dida can handle him well. So will you come?" she asked with the cutest puppy face. She was so much like her mother ." well in that case i can never say no to you beta." She jumped with happiness and hugged me whole heartedly.
"We are playing outside bigcha! We will come as soon as our order arrives" "be careful golu. Take care of your sister too" and with that the two kids bolted out leaving me and sonakshi alone. There was an ackward silence which i decided to break. "so sonakshi...uh i mean dr.bose .how has life been?" i stammered . "sonakshi would do fine too Dev. And there is seriously no need to initiate an ackward conversation dev" she said. Typical Ms. Bose . "no i want to know Sonakshi! How your life has been? how you managed everything with our little Suhana? How you felt during your pregnancy? how you felt when you hekd our daughter for the first time? Everything! I want to know everything." She smiled for a change and i could guess where her thoughts would have flown to, when i said that last line. "Do you seriously want to know everything dev? Are we done with the blame game or there is still some of it to come yet?" she said non-chalantly . "Look Sonakshi! What ever happened until now, we cannot change that but can we not try forgetting that. Lets just start afresh. Lets just be friends again? I promise i wont be foolish this time and you would see the Dev you always wanted to." i said a little unsure about how she would react. " i don't know Dev. But i think giving it a try won't harm any of us .So yeah! " and with that we shook hands . oh my my! Did i ever say my daughter has a beautiful smile? Well her mother has equally beautiful smile that could still light up my world.i made mistakes fro which i don't deserve to be forgiven. I know the issues we had were not the ones that could easily be forgotten but i guess this start of the new friendship would help us sort them out. "When was the last time you cleaned yourself Dev?" Sonakshi said eyeing my beard and trust me i could see my old sona's shadow . "Hey! i do take a bath and clean up everyday. And this is for my fans. " i said pointing towards my beard, adding " it adds more charm to my personality u know. And i know sonakshi you still drool over how handsome i am" i grinned. She shrugged "in your dreams, Mr.Aubhodro"
"Bigcha! I wanted to tell you something.Promise me you won't get angry" we were back home and were sitting in the garden. "i promise Golu. Tell me now" " actually Bigcha! I think i have started liking big chachi very much and there are 100% chances that i would love her a little more that i love you" Golu said foolishly .my silly Golu. I would be more than happy if he loved his big Chachi more "acha bachu! Chachi ke ane par chachi se zyada pyar" i said tickling him. "bring her home soon bigcha" he said in between his laughter. Ah! I hope that day comes soon too. My wife and My daughter. My beautiful world.
Hey guys! I wanted to pen my feelings about the track and there can be no platform better than IF for it.Since i am new to this forum and a silent reader i don't know people here, so couldn't send PMs to anyone. If you like my OS then feel free to share it with other people on this forum. Criticism happily accepted . forgive me for the mistakes.
