KR instead of AS in BV

i am one of those few who actually enjoyed Bombay Velvet. The setting, the story and the acting all made sense. The only weak link according to me was AS , and since hers was one of the pivotal character , I feel one of the reasons the movie failed was because of her. Having said that I also feel in both Sultan and ADHM she performed admirably.

I keep thinking which other actress could have done the role better and the only actress who could have pulled off that character is I think Kangana. She would have bought the right amount of baggage(the character was a child abuse victim but one never got that feeling the way AS played her) sultriness etc to make the character believable and worth all those men chasing her. It would have been a real classic had Anurag Kashyap gone with the right casting.

AS wasn't the only problem, everyone was hilariously miscast. At least some of the stunt casting was kind of interesting (KJo). For Anushka, she wasn't as badly cast per se, they apparently cut out a lot of the backstory the character needed to explain why didn't necessarily have the ingenue - femme fatale aspect. Do think KR would have been a better choice, though. Kareena as well.

The worst was definitely RK IMO, the gun climax ended up comical with him, ditto for the cage-fighting & all the times he needed to have that struggler energy. Any of the actors it was previously offered to would have been more apt, including even nostril actor Hrithik.

I think Kashyap always knew it, but he obviously was desperate to get the movie financed, he had this whole plan in place that was contingent on BV doing well, so he could make Doga, etc.

As per comments they should have taken Salman and Deepika. Ekdum hit ho jaati thi. 😛 😆 It is true, Kangana would have brought gravitas. Anu lacks that vulnerability streak. She should have played some other part...
