As reported by the Hindustan Times, investigators are exploring possible connections between the threat directed at Ranveer Singh and the activities of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has been linked to targeting prominent figures in the entertainment industry.

In response to the threatening voice note, the couple promptly stationed six armed security personnel to protect their residence. This immediate action, however, has created tension within their housing complex. The society's managing committee has formally communicated its "serious concern" to the Dadar Police Station through an official letter, specifically regarding the presence of armed guards in communal areas.

The committee highlighted that the presence of armed guards and visible weapons in communal areas, including the lobby, gymnasium, and children's play area, has unsettled other residents. The official letter also requested that the police confirm whether the couple had secured the required permissions for deploying armed personnel. Alongside this, a uniformed police officer has been assigned to the premises, while the Mumbai Crime Branch is actively working to trace the digital footprint of the individual behind the extortion attempt.
