Happy Makar Sankranti/ Lohari/ Pongal/Maghi/ Utrayan to All enjoy.

Friends Makar Sankarnti is celebrated in all regions of India. Kumbh mela is arranged that day when over million ppl go there to take holy plunge into Ganga sagar and prayag and prays to Sun God, It is celebrated with the name pongal, Sankrantm Lohari and many other name. In Gujrat It is called Utrayan means Sun asecends and enters northen hemisphere. We gujaratis celebrate it by flying kites in the sky. It is like sending flowers to deity. instead of flowers we use kites trying to reach Sun to welcome him in northern hemspere. For many it is begginning of harvest season. But most of all it is a day to help poor and needy with donation of food, clothes, money or other items.any one wants to know more about it here is the link

Ok friends kites will be provided with food here is the shop you can have any kite you like . Join us with your dates and sunglasses. You can wear anything but don't forget there might be fashion parade here.😆 So wear beautiful clothes and may be jewelary too.😆

raksha, do you know i'm going kite festival this sunday..i love UTRAYAN..i alway prefer to go india at this time...

yes Let us enjoy the party but everyone is missing now and I am all alone. As I have been so busy and will be for 2 more days. My son is leaving sunday as we are dropping him there.

Thanks me too. I am going to india but not on utrayan . I wish I could as I too love it.😊

I just feel bad rememberibg those days when we were so excited that could not sleep on the night of 13 and then wake up so early in the morning and run to rooftop to see first rays of sun and fly the kite. 😊

yes dear I tooo feel like I was in India. When my son was little we went several times on sankrant . But they ususally celebrater in very far location from where we live and ususally it gets very cold. So We stopped going. I still have few kites like I posted here. As my son used to collect all the different kites with characters on it.
