These lines are so apt for NaiRan and I squealed in joy when they used it for them today. Its one of my favourite favourite songs and it was so beautifully incorporated! But then, NaiRan are so heartbreakingly beautiful that this melancholy melody just enriches them! ❤️
To start with, I loved how they showed Naina studying. Gives me hope that they won't forget about her ambitions. She realizes Karan is not in the room and goes looking. She hears a song and goes towards it to reach the storeroom. It was such a beautifully shot scene!! Karan asleep, the background alternating between light and shadows and the above mentioned lines of the song in the background. Naina had so many emotions on her face seeing Karan. She was so upset that he dislikes her to this extent that he is willing to sleep in the store rather than be with her. She doesn't know yet that its not her, it just his aversion to sharing his space with anyone. The way she kneels down next to him and can't stop her tears, it was so heart wrenching! It was really like she was portraying the lines of the song, that they had a strange story with neither of them understanding what their destination was!
Karan wakes up and as usual, is on the offensive as to why she can't leave him alone. She reasons with him, asks them to behave like adults but he takes offence at that as well. In the course of conversation, she admits that his comfort matters to her. Aww! It really does matter to her, her actions have been showing this all along. Karan still asks her to just leave and now, fed up, Naina asks him a very pertinent question. Where should she go? This is her house by right and where else will she be? He has no answer. Back in the room, she gathers herself up in a chair and curls into herself, like she was trying to gather herself together. Also, he slept on the floor in the store and she on the chair in their room. Subconsciously, she also chose not to be comfortable on the bed. I thought it was poignant!
In the morning, she is worried that he will be late for office and when he comes into the room, asks him so. Oh my god, how deep rooted are Karan's insecurities!! He let her have it completely, taunting her for being a topper and himself being a nalayak. Saying that she gets pleasure in giving him pain because everybody knows he doesn't go to office. When she defended herself that she didn't know, he still doesn't let her off the hook saying that she probably confused him with NandKishor Chahuhan's perfect son, her jiju. He really does have a problem with any comparison with his brother and we got a taste of it today. No matter how much he says it doesn't matter to him, it does and Naina also understood that because she thought that if he doesn't have a problem, why is he reacting so badly.Poor Naina, she didn't know what had hit her. 🥺
Inspite of everything, Naina will not give up, as she promised herself. I think she will probably move in the store room herself. Lets see how you take that Karan! 😆Also, I loved what Naina was wearing!! That orange and blue suit is so gorgeous!
