?? Most popular are still the Khans. And all are now 50+. They were above average looking (for Indians) in their youth. Salman was handsome, Aamir had cute chocolate boys look, SRK albeit a bit lacking in looks department was still better looking than others. Can't expect them to look the same now.

There are many good looking men in Bollywood who have done well. Rajesh Khanna and Dharmendra were very good looking in their time. Salman, Aamir, Akshay were all very good looking in their youth. Even shahrukh was moderately attractive although he is more successful due to his charm. Now actors like Varun, Ranbir, Shahid and Hrithik are doing well in the industry and they are also good looking. So yes good looks do slightly matter. Hell even Siddharth Malhotra is doing well for himself even though all his movies sucked, he gave a 100 crore hit in a crap film like Ek villain. The audience tolerated Hrithik in his MPKDH and Yaadein days as well and Shahid the less said the better. Akshay also had a huge string of flops but he was still tolerated. So yes looks do play a part
