I empathized with both Elena and Dev. Personally, I am not a big fan of Elena. I think the way she treats her son speaks volumes to her self indulgent nature even to the point of detriment of her loved ones. Her elopement with Vicky was just another example of that. Also the fact that she knew the Boses were evicted from their house by Dixits/Tripathis and didn't make a stand. But saying that I think today her emotions seemed sincere and genuine. I think she genuinely does want to rekindle that bond with her family. Its almost like she's been woken from a slumber for the last 7 years. Hopefully this time around we will see her make a stand for someone other than herself.
I don't appreciate Dev outright using Elena in the manner that he did. But I also don't think he was thinking clearly in that moment. I think he was so overwhelmed with the fact that Soha might be his daughter that Sona had hidden from him that he couldn't focus on anyone else's emotions. He needed the truth. I can only imagine what it would be like to be on the precipice of discovering that you have a 6 year old child. In comparison, Elena's somewhat fickle love for her family just wouldn't hold any weight.
