Maya is obsessed!! Maya wants to capture Arjun!! Maya is not the right person for Arjun! Maya has darkness!! Maya can never gift happiness! Maya brings only sorrow!! Maya is unlucky! Maya is cursed! - This has been the refrain of everyone except Arjun. everybody are so focused on what Maya brings into their life, none are bothered with what they are giving to Maya!

Here is a bride, not a day old who has come to her husband's house, filled with fear, hope and resolve. She intends to blend into the family, make HIS family as her own, Make HIS friends as her own but what does she get? contempt, venomous words, disdain, hatred. The colorful flowers symbolic of her smooth life has a shrapnel of glass within, the sweet that ought to dissolve and dissipate the corroding bitterness in her soul is withheld from her. The welcome she has to receive as her right is not given Yet Maya does not crumble, does not throw away her arms up in defeat. She decides to win Ma and she humbles herself to ask the help of Sanjh in winning Ma's heart. Of all the people, she asks Sanjh, the girl who is battered, bruised and not yet healed - How will this association fare?

Vandana is like a blinkered horse who will see what the manipulator wants her to see and she is seeing a girl whose entry bodes of ill omen. Vandana forgets that in each and every action, it is Maya who has had to bear the brunt of the ill omen while other's escaped scot free (almost). The manipulator is succeeding, Vandana's uncommon hatred, fear is skyrocketing and like the inspector said, the fire is going to engulf the forest; have to see who gets trapped and who escapes!! ------->>> Going completely off tangent and whimsical now.

Oddly enough, Inspector's comment reminded me of Khandava forest fire from Mahabharat. Two illustrious warriors Arjun and Krishna. Both were enticed by Lord Agni to burn down the forest and not let ANY animals escape! Ofc, in the melee, few animal's did escape who later regrouped under the banner of Kauravas and fought against Pandavas. But the importance of Khandava fire was not in the burning but in what Krishna and Arjun got as token of appreciation for their service. Arjun gets Ghandiva - a powerful bow/arrow whose owner will never be defeated in any war. Krishna gets Sudharshana chakra - the destroyer of evil.

SO HERE COMES THE WHIMSY PART -

The Arjun of Mahabharat can easily be considered as Arjun Sharma but where does Maya fit in? We switch to Brahma Samhita, where Krishna's illusory energy manifests itself as Maya- Maya is illusion nevertheless, it is part of Krishna! Stretching it a bit and considering that Yog Maya is also Durga and is also a part ofKrishna, can we assume that we are seeing the conjoining of two warriors. Now in the Kurukshetra war, Krishna does not lift a hand while Arjun it is who does the hard physical work, Krishna is the strategist who guides the course of the war ensuring that nothing harms Arjun, towards this end, he even sacrifices the sons of Pandavas.

APPLYING IT HERE

Quite obviously, Arjun is the impulsive reactor here, he needs a restraining hand, a counselor whom he respects. Sanjh's words he just shakes it off, Ma's words are not taken seriously but when Maya just lays her hand on his arm and signs to him (when Vandana goes all witchy during ghrihapravesh) Arjun subsides! Maya's brains will be needed to fight the approaching menace, Arjun cannot fight single-handed nor is Sanjh the able lieutenant, what is needed is a cool brain, a brain that is ruthless, purposeful, focused and cold-blooded in short, what is needed is Maya.

Since I am in a mytho mood..Let me also add in Hinduism, Maya is the name given to a manifestation of Goddess Lakshmi. Goddess Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, prosperity and love..

CONTINUING ABOUT Beyhadh...

Yesterday's rivals are today's friends who can easily turn enemies tomorrow. Any sudden changes are unbelievable one should always be on guard when such thing occurs but here Maya has let her guard down, which may come back to bite her later. Her normal sense for picking up cues and clues are at abeyance, so eager is she to fit in, to lap the love, she forgets that there are many a slip between the cup and the lip.

Maya has been portrayed as the destroyer but how can she when she is the one who prevents the fragile jug of water from breaking when it slips from Vandana's hand. As I had mentioned in one of my earlier posts, Vandana will become a victim of misdirect and that is happening now...

@ Sanju, the inspector is very much needed to this phase. He is the trickster of the Beyhadh. The trickster is witty, cunning and deceives people in the folklores. Here, the inspector has to mislead, misdirect the audience from realizing the truth while at the same time he will give numerous tricky hints that does indicate the truth.

Do share your thoughts..whether in agreement or disagreement... a healthy robust discussion is always welcome...😊

A lovely post again 👏
I completely agree with your analogy of Arjun and Krishna, where Krishna (Maya) is the strategist and Arjun is the doer...Infact that has always been Maya's style. She never openly wages war against the people in Arjun's life but rather creates the kind of situation that makes Arjun himself wage war against them.
She did that with Saanjh too..she never spoke against Saanjh in front of Arjun or anyone else. In front of everyone she was the understanding girlfriend who is willing to accept her boyfriend's bff, who was ready to be friends with Saanjh, who gave Saanjh a job so that she and Arjun could spend more time together etc. In reality that is NOT what Maya really felt about Saanjh. So she set the ball rolling towards Saanjh by sending her the email...Saanjh could have stopped the ball from rolling by ignoring the email or directly going to Arjun and Maya with it but she instead chose to roll along and ended up at the foot of the hill, with Arjun himself breaking their friendship.

Can you blame Maya for breaking Arjun-Saanjh's friendship???No you cannot completely blame her because it was ultimately Saanjh's stupidity, blind belief that Maya was wrong for Arjun, and her own hurt for being rejected by Arjun that led to her ultimate failure in Arjun's eyes. Maya just set the events in motion. Saanjh by acting differently in that situation could have gained both Arjun's and Maya's trust.

I think the same will happen to Vandana now. Maya so far has been making genuine efforts to change and gain her acceptance. When all her efforts will be met with indifference she will start playing her games behind everyone's back. Maya will never openly fight with Vandana as that would mean losing face in front of Arjun. No, she will create a situation where Arjun himself will wage an all out war against Vandana and Vandana will end up looking like a fool. Vandana's inability to accept Maya's genuine effort for truce will backfire.

Mytho mood, eh? that makes the two of us coz I just finished watching Mahabharata (star plus) on hotstar..😊 It is, indeed, like the lyrics in the title track says ''Jeevan ka ye sampurn saar hai'' .. anyway, I liked the analogy you drew between Arjun- Sri Krishna and Arjun-Maya.. Both the Arjun's are impulsive and driven by heart and emotions.. Krishna was also a chhaliya.. he had the ability to deceive and manipulate people around him to get the job done, albeit for the re-establishment of dharma.. I feel in case of Arjun and Maya, the later will for sure be the one guiding and steering most of Arjun's actions.. but I am not very confident of them as a team as opposed to Arjun-Sri-Krishna.. and I can't put my finger on what exactly is the reason of my apprehension.. its a rough road ahead for both Maya and Arjun... Is Maya being genuine about her intentions to be part of Arjun's family? If Arjun snaps ties with his family because of all this drama from Vandana's side, will Maya genuinely want him to reconcile after all that she is and will go through in that house..Is Maya's desperation for acceptance in the family genuine or only for the sake of Arjun's happiness..? I am not sure.. Maya is indeed Maya.. an illusion..she is very unpredictable.. her character sketch is so layered that 2+2 is never equal to 4.. lol

Great post btw !!

This post is sheer brilliance and the analogue is spot on..hats off 👏...

Here Maya is going to wage a proxy war against people not in her good books and she will beautifully manipulate Arjun to do it for her...but i don't know I just don't see Lord Krishna in her...In mahabharat Pandavs fought against the evil kauravas but here who is evil...vandana ?? am not really sure and where does Saanjh fit...?

As per my understanding Saanjh means dusk/twilight or in hindi "godhuli bela"...its a very powerful time of the day when there is neither too much of light nor darkness...in mythology at this hour only narsimha killed hirankashyapu...twilight can be friends with darkness and light both as its the medium through which darkness meets light or we can say till the time twilight is there darkness cannot totally engulf light or vice versa...so yes though feeble this time of the day is in my belief most powerful time...because neither too much of light is good nor too much of darkness...there has to be a balance and saanjh is that balance...so yes till the time she's there i things will not get out of control...( but for once i want Saanjh to stay put at her home...why does she need to stick around at sharma residence )

Vandana's paranoia is going to unleash the beast in Maya and then the great manipulator will again resurface..when society doesn't give a chance to someone who wants to move on and start afresh, then there will be repercussions ..there might be losses on both sides...none will come out unscathed..

I never knew "Maya" is another name for goddess lakshmi...and yersterday Lakshmi was entering Sharma residence but due to Vandana's unintentional shove, she got bruised...( well Vandana did not intend to bump in to Ayan who was carrying the sweets )...yet she did not let the glass jar break...its Vandana unintentionally breaks the glass and Maya Catches it in the right time from breaking...

Thank You, Isha..

Maya is the name given to one of Lakshmi's manifestations.

Pardon me, but what were the superstition's about Maya? I remember the the lit lamp getting extinguished but apart from that..what were the other signs?
