After Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, it's Sonam Kapoor's turn to go global. The actress has been signed on by Hollywood talent agency, UTA (United Talent Agency) and has already begun looking at Hollywood projects. Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam spoke about this on Karan Johar's chat show. But Sonam clarifies, "It was supposed to be a joke. Because I signed with UTA, people today keep saying, Oh, she is also going to Hollywood!'"
The actress adds that her parameters of choosing a film remain the same. "I am looking for the same kind of roles that I am looking forward to when it comes to Bollywood. I want to do good roles even in Hollywood. There's no difference. Wherever I get the best work, I will work there. Even if it's in China. It doesn't matter which industry it is." Sonam won't allow her Bollywood career take a backseat. She elaborates, "I don't think any career of mine will take a backseat if I continue doing good work. I want to use my time effectively and I am not crazy. It's not like I am waking up everyday to, Oh, I want to become a Hollywood star'. That's not how it works but as an actor, I want to expand my horizons. So, if my agent abroad has given me a role there and I get a role here, which has more meat to it, then I will do the Bollywood film. And vice-versa. It's the same thing. You are acting here as well as there. Just that you are doing it in a different language."
Talking about DP and PC's work abroad, there are bound to be comparisons. And an honest Sonam admits that it's difficult to reach the place they have reached. "I think they are doing very good work and I hope I can do as well as them. I don't think I will ever reach their standard. I am okay with the comparisons because I don't think I'll ever be as good as them. They are doing very, very well and I just hope I can do a fraction of what they are doing. I will be very happy with that much," she signs off.
