Objectifying
Because this is the first time, an introduction wouldn't hurt just to get the gist of what this (hopefully) series of threads going to be. Basically, I'll be watching this show. But I've so outgrown the phase where Desi Dramas compelled me to go all super deep about them. That said, it's not very easy for me to watch a show and not have opinions about them that I'd like to share. Hence O2. Let's face it, there's no LULZ ki kami in desi dramas but they also have things which are good despite the lulz. IB and now DBO has that very strange quality of being aesthetically pleasing as well as intellectually annoying. I shall be talking about both of these aspects whenever I make an O2 thread. So, don't expect a lot of depth here because it's objective at most. There'll be no me going all super defense mode or attack mode about something. Basically jo hai so hai or rather how I see it to be.
The Objectifying part comes from, like i said above, the aesthetics. Visually this show is super stunning. Since primarily I'm watching for Kunal and Omkara's love story, I like to FOR ONCE just kick back and carnally enjoy the Gul Khan's brand of romance. I don't want to think about it or want to be offended by it cuz it goes against my sensibilities. I just want fun.

FINALLY ye din aagaya! I think the intros were pretty cool although sara promo utha ke chaap diya tha. Omkara's new found intensity was something I liked despite it being presented with EXTRAAA emphasis. Which was unnecessary. That phone call with Shivaay where Older Bro was all #concerned and Omkara just CBA was very unintentionally hilarious. Omkara was thiiiss close to losing his shit and going all, "SHIVAAY MERI INTENSITY KO ANDA MAT MAAR!!!" Let the guy be intense.
Also Oberois are goals. Pocket se IPhone girr gaya and pata hi nahin chala. Pata chalna toh duur, baad mein parwah bhi nahin ki. Allah aise din sabko dikhaye, Aameen!
Was VERY excited about what BG music they would play on Gauri and Omkara's first sharing of the same frame. It's safe to say out of ALL the things, Salman Khan ka tyaoun tyaoun was something i never expected. Just because the opening lines of the song are "Main utra aaj ISHQ de akhare" doesn't make it an Ishqbaazi worthy song people.
Subtlety naam ki toh koi CHEEZ hi nahin hai. I'm thinking of ways they could've made the Anika-Gauri connection more obvious. And I fail to think of a way. Basically Gauri is Anika ka modified model. Same framework, slightly different features. I did like the convo of the sisters though. Gauri's philosophy of cherishing love even if its unrequited was sweet. She's all mann mein hai vishwas poora hai vishwaas about life. Yeah gurl, life doesn't work that way.
BUT! Now that Omkara has become #cynic it only makes sense for Gauri to be #annoyinglyoptimistic
KALI THAKUR THOUGH! I could watch an ENTIRE show of him being badass. OMG RAHUL DEV IS SO FREAKIN' EPIC!! Eff Gauri, I'll be cool in watching Omkara vs Kali faceoffs!!
OHOHOO! Ohohoo!! Poetry. Beautiful. Made me clap cuz aaah! Level, KYA LEVEL! And that exchange of "hum mar jaenge" and "tumhare mooh mein ghee shakar" YAAR AAP RETORTING KA LEVEL DEKHO! Ohohoho!! Showering the haveli, sorry MAHAL, scenes with pappis and jhappis.
Bless you sweetKara, you mama's boy :') That feet touching was very touching. Also slightly uncomfortable for Thakurain...matlab atmosphere toh padho.
SURPRISE! Anika Modified aka Gauri has an evil Chachi! But to change things Gauri has a mother she cares for. Matlab ye Bareli hai ya Anarchypur? NO ONE stopped to help two ladies? Ye best hai. Gauri found find to change hairstyle and clothes while on overwhelming time pressure of getting money for Maa Ka Ilaaj. I wasn't even bothered by the tabaah hui continuity cuz that's how you enjoy the show :D
