Reviews for 11 and 12 February episodes

All singers sang well ...

Today Malvika sang with full confidence. All were good. But bringing in Manya was an unfair move by Sony tv. Of course Revanth mimic was superb. Nice to see he is slowly opening up. All the contestants are also have come out of their shy mode. All are confident now.

I watched him mimic Hemachandra on YouTube. While I don't understand Telugu, I've watched Hemachandra on another reality show and seen some interviews, and Revanth was bang on!!

My reviews in the order that I liked best

1. Revanth - it's not surprising that he's called a rockstar!! He truly made a comeback today! There were pronunciation errors but not half as bad. If there's one guy who can perform to a live audience like this it's him. He's clearly numero uno when it comes to setting the stage on fire. He sang very well too. Amazing energy.

2. Hardeep - he was in his element today. Like the judges have said he gives Punjabi songs a very modern effect. That he is a good singer is undisputed, but today we saw his best.

3. Khudabaksh - I never thought I'd ever rate him so high, but today he was fantastic. Though I'd like him to sing something with no Punjabi.

4. Rohit - while this is not Rohit's style, he did justice. He's evolving and how. I think after the stammering incident he's out to prove himself. And if he continues like this there's no doubt he may make it to the top 3.

5. Tajinder - he didn't start off well, but picked up quite well. I enjoyed his performance, though he wasn't as good as the above, he was definitely good.

6. Shravan - I didn't enjoy his performance one bit. He sings well, nothing wrong with his sur or anything, but this isn't his genre and he was clearly uncomfortable and it showed.

7. Manya - she wasn't good, but she wasn't bad. She tried and was decent in places but her voice is just very average. Also her word endings seemed rather abrupt.

8. Malavika - I don't know how she was praised so much. I thought she was screeching in the high notes. And the classical bit ruined the song for me. Hats off to her for being so different to her style.

9. Mohit - he sounds the same no matter what he sings. It's almost repetitive. Also when he sang the low notes, he was barely audible.

Akbar Sami was amazing!! But unfortunately his awesome music didn't let us appreciate and understand the real singing.

Revanths imitation was funny, though the Khudabaksh imitation was over the top. His imitation of Shravan and Mohit was spot on.

It was so sad to see Hardeep go, on a day he was so good was worse.

A real loss for Indian idol.

Did anyone else notice Anu Maliks expression when Manya was declared safe?

I didn't enjoy the episode at all.😔 I thought everyone went off-key at some point or other. That said, Hardeep, Khudabaksh and Malvika were the best for me.

Again tomorrow Mohit sings his same high pitched song, Revanth sticks to Arijit Singh.

Just when I was happy we had a different kind of an episode today.

I love "Raat Baaki" and Manya thankfully did not butcher it, but I'm never satisfied with her performance.She was so-so.

Shravan and Rohit's song choices weren't too good, did not give them any opportunity to shine at all.

I like "Yaad aa raha hai" and "Meri umar ke naujawanon", but did not think either Mohit or Revanth did any justice to those songs at all. Mohit went off-key in the lower notes ( he was struggling quite a bit) and Revanth's pronunciations were horrendous today, it totally ruined the song and his performance for me. He kept saying "hey" instead of "hai" and all his "kh" words sounded like a flat "k".😲. And the last bit that ups the tempo was!

Tajinder was okay , again "Jhumma chumma" is not among my favorites. Did not enjoy the remixing by Akbar Sami at all!👎🏼The music sounded too chaotic and many a time I could hear the singers not being able to pick up the song at the right beat, it sounded too noisy and messed up to me.

Hardeep's elimination did not surprise me, though it did disappoint.😭I think I'd better get used to the disappointment, since that will be thetrend from here on thanks to audience votes.🤢

Revanth really has to work hard on his pronunciation.
While I enjoyed it, I can't deny his pronunciation is horrendous.
It undoubtedly wasn't as bad as chappa chappa, maybe the music masked it, but Atleast I wasn't cringing like last week.

All kh become k, main/hai become may/hey, all th become t and all ch become chh.
Something about his EE sounds also, they become yee.

Also agree about today's episode not being great. It didn't seem like an episode of Indian idol, it was more of a concert.
