Perceptions differ. I am not asking for anyone to accept my words as Gospel, merely encouraging one to think.
Om man handled Swetlana today and he has been named a male chauvinist pig. Understandable since it was Om, an able man roughening up an unarmed helpless woman Swetlana. But is he really a male chauvinist pig? I think not. Don't misunderstand me. I have perfectly come to terms with the fact that Om has every chance of becoming a male chauvinist pig. He was shown today as perfectly capable. But does Om man handling Swetlana make him a male chauvinist pig? Or does he calling her a "bikau maal" or asking her to name a price for herself makes him a male chauvinist pig when she herself names a price for her?

Now the man handling. This is very interesting because, if Swetlana was a guy and had done some pretty shitty things to Janvi, taunted her son Om about her and if Om reacted the same way, no one would have even cared to make a comment on this scene just because they were two guys fighting. The man handling is only brought up because Swetlana is a woman, a snake of a woman who tortured his mother to suicide, who broke his home and blamed him of rape but hey who cares, she is a woman. Well I thought that was the most fitting thing Omkara has ever done in the course of the show and should have done that way before. Being a woman shouldn't grand such a vile person the advantage to get away with whatever she does and punishments shouldn't be gender biased. She is a woman, so what? She destroyed that guy's family and to her luck she didn't get killed by him. I am sorry but if Swetlana shouldn't be beaten up for what she does I have lost all my faith in Karma.
There is a fine line between a feminist and a feminazi and there is a hell lot of difference between misogyny and retribution. ****
PS- Feel free to call me a hypocrite and blind.
PPS- Omkara died. So yeah it's pointless to think of him as some righteous saint who wouldn't lift a finger if he is messed with.
