It's an endless cycle that feeds on itself. Box office India tried very hard to make Kaabil a disaster from day one (they didn't even try to sound impartial) so Rakesh R probably felt justified inflating so Kaabil would have breathing room until word of mouth kicked in - which it must have or they would have lost more screens. Now Indicine gives RCE a pass for inflating on weekdays because they didn't want bad press, etc. It is very hard to hold anyone accountable unless you hold everyone accountable. The so called "trade" analysts, the media they report for, the exhibitors who chronically deflate for profit, the distributors who blow with the wind and the producers who chronically inflate. And as far as the people at the top who "never" manipulate - it's always easy to be terribly moral when everything is going your way...
