PROLOGUE
It had been six hours since Maya had been laying in this cold, dark room. Her limbs were tied with rope and her mouth had been taped, a dirty handkerchief secured around her face. She struggled to breathe, and as every second passed, she felt even dizzier. She was thirsty, tired and above all, confused. She didn't know who the three men who lifted her off the ground, dumped her in a van and abandoned her at a mysterious location were. Who were they? What did they want? Why her? A million questions were on her mind and she knew, she knew for certain that Ashwin Mehrotra had something to do with this.
He had tried in more than one way to stop her from marrying Arjun, be it trying to discourage Arjun's family from the wedding or tried his twisted methods by influencing Saanjh, and when nothing worked out, he decided to get her kidnapped three days before her wedding. How much lower could his standards fall? Thought Maya to herself.
She heard footsteps, she was scared, but also too tired and weak to bother making an effort to see who it was. As she lifted her head slightly, she encountered a very familiar pair of shoes; Italian leather, burgundy and definitely expensive - her gift to Arjun. She looked up to see none but her lover. Her shoulders dropped as a sign of relief and a sigh escaped her mouth. She had never been happier to see Arjun. As he neared her, he dropped to his knees and untied the cloth from her mouth, allowing her to breathe. She mumbled some incoherent words.
"They.. they, that Ashwin. Humari shaadi.. Thank God ki tum aa gaye"
The three men returned, as they took steps forward, Arjun dismissed them. "Go."
"Yes Sir." The three men answered in unison. This was the first time Maya bothered observing them, they were tall, well-built dressed in black.
Maya sat more confused than ever, sir, what did they mean by sir? Why would Arjun arrange something of the sort? Was it some sort of surprise?
"Maya," Arjun addressed her, "Aapko yaad hai, jab maine aapka office join kiya tha, movie tickets exchange karne ki wajah se, aapne mujhe kya saza di thi?"
"Ha, maine tumhe 6 ghanto ke liye washroom mein lock kiya tha. Lekin tum yeh sab kyu pooch rahe ho? Aur tum yaha?"
"6 hours washroom mein band karne ke liye, 6 ghante is andhere se basement mein, Maya baby." Maya baby, she hated it when someone called her that. Ashwin would always call her that when he knew he has a way to harm her. For her, those two words just rang an alerting alarm in her head, scaring her more than ever. She looked at Arjun only to see his black pupils, expressing anger, hatred and deception. She wanted to believe that her eyes were deceiving her, that her mind was playing games, that the weakness got to her, but all she could see was a man she loved but who didn't love her back.
Meet Arjun Sharma. He had once been a wannabe popular photographer who had joint Fashion & the City with great expectations and a passion driven by the incombustible flame of desire, that was, until he came across his boss Maya Mehrotra. She had seemed to be the person who enjoyed twisted wicked games, a person with great junoon, someone from another world. He hated this world she came from, but that's exactly what he wanted to be part of. What happened? They fell in love, no, not really. She did, she loved him immensely with all her heart, gave him everything that was hers, she loved him like she had never loved before, and he? He spent every second pretending, waiting for the perfect moment to attain revenge for everything she has put him through. Every second of torture, humiliation, every minute of his life she had made living hell, he wanted revenge for. And the time had come. The time for him to turn out like another Ashwin and let Maya end up helpless, another Jhanvi.
Hey guys! This is my attempt at a proper fanfiction for the first time, I hope you like it. I know the concept is a little different, a bit twisted, but I promise it will be Beyhadh enjoyable.
