It almost seemed extra certain as the awards night kept going on but that became all the more sealed as One Battle After Another won the BEST PICTURE Oscar thus meaning the film won six awards out of the 13 nominations this year.

If there has been one certainty amongst all the madness going on everywhere else, it has been an almost certainty in general that Jessie Buckley will win all awards but the Oscars are always a wondering. Many thought and perhaps expected Timothee Chalamet to win the Best Actor award until a few days ago though till his whole ballet comments controversy blew up. No matter the factor, Michael B. Jordan went on to win his FIRST ever Oscar for Best Actor.

One Battle After Another wins another and a special award for Andy Jurgensen went on to win the award for Best Editing.

F1 wins a rare one

Just like it was the case with Avatar: Fire and Ash being the obvious choice to win the Visual Effects award, it wouldn't have made any sense for any film other than F1 to win the Best Sound award and so it did, and the winners were Gareth John, Al Nelson, Gwendolyn Yates Whittle, Gary A. Rizzo and Juan Peralta.

A THIRD win for Ludwig Goransson

Imagine having just over 20-odd movie collaborations so far and already grabbing three Oscars. At this point, Ludwig Goransson is unstoppable where he went on to bag his third Oscar, this time for his stellar work on Sinners. This is after his first Oscar for another collaboration with Ryan Coogler on Black Panther and then a couple of years ago for his work on the Christopher Nolan film, Oppenheimer.

A SPECIAL moment

The main cast of possibly one of the most fun movies, Bridesmaids reunited on-stage to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the film. Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, Rose Bryne, Kristein Wiig and Ellie Kemper gave what was one the most fun bits of the night as well and presented the Best Score award.

The first UPSET of the night

Almost everyone expected Netflix's much-loved and talked about documentary film, The Perfect Neighbor to win this award, however, an upset was pulled as Mr. Nobody Against Putin went on to win the Best Documentary Feature Film award.

The harrowing and heart-touching documentary short film, All The Empty Rooms won the Best Documentary Short Film.

How can there be a visual effects award category and if there is a James Cameron film that has come on the horizon and that doesn't win an award? It is almost impossible, and that's even more impossible when you have an Avatar movie that has just dropped in as Joe Letteri, Richard Baneham, Eric Sandon won the Best Visual Effects award for Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Frankenstein continues to rake in more awards

Guillermo Del Toro's fantasy marvel, Frankenstein continued to rake in more and more technical awards as the talented team behind the production design of the film won the Best Production Design oscar.

A rarity

As promised earlier, the Academy went on to indeed air an extended period of airtime of the In Memoriam segment as they mentioned how this past year witnessed the passing of so many legends which included prominent and popular names like Robert Duvall, Catherine O'Hara, Diane Keaton, Robert Redford and many more.

After five nominations and possibly presenting one of the most-acclaimed and loved films of last year, Sinners its first award of the night which was also the first award for director Ryan Coogler, in the Best Original Screenplay category. He was visibly nervous but thanked everyone in his speech.

It never seemed like a factor that One Battle After Another will be going winless here but now, it's just stacking up awards and how as it wins yet another but also turns out to be the first ever win for Paul Thomas Anderson in the Best Adapted Screenplay category.

No surprises here! Sean Penn DOESN'T show up to collect his Oscar

Actor Sean Penn went on to win his Oscar deservedly for his performance in One Battle After Another, as the actor won the Best Supporting Actor Male award but it was a no-show as he didn't show up to collect his award, which isn't a surprise per se.

Only for the third time in the history

A rare occurrence as only for the third time ever in history, it turned out to be a tie in the Best Live Action Short Film category for the titles, The Singers and Two People Exchanging Saliva.

Frankenstein gets its FIRST Oscar

Costume designer Kate Hawley won her first ever Oscar for Best Costume Design for the finely produced and presented fantasy drama, Frankenstein, directed by Guillermo Del Toro.

Possibly not on the radar for one and all out there who watches animated films but this was always a film that needed to be celebrated as a puppet movie about something so poignant was loved and adored rightfully.

KPOP Demon Hunters wins the Best Animated Feature award

Possibly the most obvious award of the night as of now, where KPOP Demon Hunters, which was one of the most certain contenders of the night and a total favorite went on to win the Best Animated Feature Film of the night.

Amy Madigan wins the Best Supporting Actress award

The first award for the night went on to be deservedly be awarded to Amy Madigan for her impeccable performances as Aunt Gladys in the horror-thriller, Weapons.

Amy went on to start amazingly with her epic laugh from the movie in classic style and then went on to thank the director fof hte film alongside other people while also appreciating her fellow nominees in the category.
