Hey

saw this film right but i was disappointed i did not think its that great 😕 am saying this because it was on a list /article as a great film but i found it copy of bobby film from familys not liking each other then running away and living rough and families tracking them down with a depressing end 😕. I know my mum said their use to bee alot of films like that but i found this too similar compared to other films around the same time . What you think is it just me?

love to know your views

hmmm...well when it released in 1988 most movies were action oriented...it might be like bobby but it has been a while since bobby released...this was one of the cult movies that drove the indian film indsutry to make romantic movies...once again :)

i think the best part about the movie was that the heroine was not merely a prop who danced around in skimpy clothes...she was a very strong character with a mind of her own. the romance was clean. the movie was clean. the dialogues were clean and cute. i am particularly fond of this movie because of the intense chemistry of aamir & juhi and juhi's strong straightforward character.

the movies that were being made in the 80s were all hero oriented, action packed. this was a breath of fresh air. and i can tell u that after almost 20 years i still find this movie fresh and evergreen. it does not look jaded like most 80s films. the story is not unique i agree but it's the treatment that was given to the movie...

oh and of course the songs...indian film music was going from bad to worse at that time...QSQT's music brought everyone back to sweet melodious music...then came ashiqui, maine pyaar kiya, dil and what not!!

Oh Boy! I fell in love with Aamir Khan after this one! 😆

It was so heartbreaking to see him die in the end! I loved teh chemistry between him and Juhi...their elopement and living together after that was quite cute I think!

And definitley the songs are good...very hummable even today...my favorite gazab ka hai din... very sweetly picturised too!

what?!?!?!?! i loved this movie! i was only four when it came out but i didnt see it til i was like eight or something...but i thought that its was awesome! it was a typical romeo and juliet story...BUT I LOVED IT!! Aamir is my favorite actor...my first Bollywood film was "Dil" with Madhuri Dixit...so maybe thats why I am biased toward this film...plus, I love Juhi Chawla! Shes so cute!

Very well said. I just wanted to add that this movie also brought back the so called "chocolate hero" phobia with Aamir Khan looking best at the age of 21. How can anyone forget his first introduction in the film with the song "Papa Kehtein Hain". He looked so so sweet in that song. I loved him so much in that movie and other movies too. I still do thats why it's very hard to wait for his movies.😛

dear ekta darling
i think it is not copy of bobby it is the remake of the great and ever green drama romeo and juliet in bobby the families were not rivels but pram dont want his son to marry a poor girl but in qsqt their 2 families were rival due to i think aamir khans aunt and juhi chawlas uncle love affair fails as he betrays aamirs aunty...sop their is lot of difference between bbobby and qayamat se qayamat tak
