There is a saying in telugu which says " Illu irukatam, aali marakatam"....means

For a person to be safe from this society ,relatives and friends...

If the House is not spacious , not lavish ...and if it is small....then somany people will not visit our house.similarly if the wife is like "Marakatam" means like Monkey ..then no one will bother to look her and there is no headache for the man to guard his wife from evil looks of other people😆

It's just a basic human instinct. Pretty people are pleasing to the eye. Unless one is blind, a person is just generally inclined to prioritize for the good looking one. Life experiences would lead others to discriminate against good looking people simply because they're good looking i.e. jealousy. Now, of course, being pretty/ugly/plain isn't the only thing that contributes to how a person looks. It's the way one carries themselves that makes a world of difference and is a large contributing factor to how people perceive them.
People judge, we're a judging culture, always have been. It's how we communicate. Sometimes our perceptions are wrong, sometimes they're right. Personally, I like to get to know someone before I judge them, but I can't deny that I've already formed an opinion of them simply from the way they look.

If someone looked at my other-half in such a way, I'd consider it a personal compliment. Look but don't touch, though. 😆

My Personal View:

I personally don't believe in looks. You should chose a person who has a good personality. If you chose a really good looking person who has a heart of rock...whats the use? I would rather chose a person who is not so good looking but has a heart of gold. I believe no one is ugly. Everyone is beautiful in their very own ways and sadly, sometimes these people are not acknowledged.

My argument about society:

I dont believe in looks but there is the society that does care about looks. Everyone wants a good looking spouse but no one realizes inner beauty. I have seen so many kids bulied and made fun of because they are different looking than others are. I have my very own personal experience with this. I am not the tallest person for a 17 and half years old girl so i get called "shortie" and what not. It doesnt effect me because I know how I am...if I am short, it doesnt bother me, them why should it bother others? I am happy the way I am, My friends are happy the way I am, My family is happy with the way I am then why should some strangers that I dont even know should have a problem with my looks. It is really stupid of people to even think that way. There are some things about this society that sadly we can't change.
