If the person puts any thing important to her/him, its capable to keep within it. Harry and Ron were shocked to discover it and couldn't guess what could be within it.

Hermione had placed an Undetectable Extension Charm on this handbag to carry all the necessary things which may be required during their horcrux hunt mission.
