Why are fans obsessed with BO collections?

Is it a part and parcel of being a hardcore fan that you have to render additional services on the forum about the film's BO collections and partying when it enters into various crore clubs? Obsessing over a favourites film and watching it over and over again in theatres is understandable but is keeping tabs on how much money the film make and partying when that film overtakes rival films necessary? As if people were given a share of BO collections as dividend to fans who promote such discussions.

BO is a sign of acceptance by general public. Knowing your favourite star is doing well is a great thing. Isn't it?

BO collection matters to the fans when the movie of their fav star does good on BO.They use numbers to prove that their fav star is the best while arguing with other fandom.
If it does not then collection also does not matter.


There are so so so many actually good movies which are not at all BO success and have been overlooked. As a lover of movies I don't care about BO numbers. What matters to me is that whether the movie is good or not.

ok this was for me 😆...TBH even I am not crazy abt numbers...that was my first BO thread yaar 😆 ...made it only after it achieved an all time grossing record(not that my liking for a movie depends on BO) ..not at all meant to put down rival stars or films...it's nice to see a good movie do well at the BO...

Fans did not invent these numbers, PHs give out collections and announce success . Fans have right to celebrate !!

Not everyone can get a kick out of hating other stars. A lot of people want to celebrate success and achievements of their favorite. BO is a huge criteria !!

Its a known fact in this forum that SRK pays his fans to watch his films. This time he has promised to pay me in legal 500 notes. 😃So this time I am gonna to celebrate too.

For me cost of movie is much more than 500 Rs.

Its costs me ticket money ( add lunch/dinner and babysitter ) More than 200 pounds + Being nice to husband for weekend😆 ( priceless)
