Connecting the dots

Ranveer was on his way to the precinct. He had already contacted his loyal deputy Shindey to run the details on the Chhabra's. He had been of enormous help these past days. Something Ranveer appreciated a lot and would not forget so easily.

What was this connection between the Chhabra's and the Oberoi's? The Chhabra family name was one which seemed familiar to him. Where have I heard this name before?' He dismissed this thought realising that this was one of the most common names in India. Obviously, he had heard it somewhere.

"Sir, welcome back. Sir, I have pulled some data from the systems available and took the liberty to filter some details for you. I have especially focused on the names requested by you."

"Thank you Shindey. Could you please arrange a pot of strong coffee for me? This might turn out to be long day for me."

Ranveer struggled through a pile of files which seemed not to have any connection to either the Oberoi's, Chhabra's, Svetlana, Roop or the death of Gayatri or of his dear sister Ipshita. What was he missing here? He was determined to continue till he found what he was looking for.

Priyanka was on her way to her room, where her brothers were already waiting for her. Rudra had informed Shivaay that Prinku had returned, with company. And he had contacted Omkara to come home soon, so they could spend time with each other and... To find out more on why she had been in the company of that ACP.

"Surprise!" Prinku smiled of happiness by seeing her loving brothers waiting for her. They hugged each other and chit chatted loosely about the trip. Priyanka had been talking so calmly and without stammering it was not left unnoticed. Rudra was the one who commented "Wah re Prinku. This trip has done you a lot of good. You look so relaxed, and you know.. Not once have you stammered. Very good. Perhaps Shivaay bhaiya can go too. These days he is stammering quite a lot, especially when you know who is around?" A joke, which was not to Shivaay's taste. Rudra winked towards his sister and Omkara.

Priyanka smiled and blushed, looking down a bit, liberating the wounded red skin on the partition of her hair. Her brothers noticed it right away. It was Shivaay who stepped up and worrying inquired about it. "Prinku.. What's this?"

Her eyes requested him for clarification. "W-what's this? This?!" Shivaay explained, pointing towards his own forehead. Omkara took over from Shivaay. "Prinku.. Come.." They walked towards the mirror, followed closely by Shivaay and Rudra. Priyanka looked in the mirror and understood what her brothers were worried about.

"Why are you wearing sindoor Prinku? Rudra told us, you arrived with company. What's going on here?"

Priyanka explained what had happened, and after she had reassured her bhaiya's she was ok, and no doctor was required, and that she did not secretly got married they left, but all three with separate concerns though.

Rudra was worried that Prinku had lied about getting married secretly. Of all people he knew how to hide that well.

Shivaay was interested to find out more background details on this ACP Randhawa. Was it really a coincidence he had met Prinku in the ashram. He needed to get to the bottom of this. Was this man following his sister and why?

Omkara was worried to, for reasons he could not discuss with his brothers. He would talk to Prinku later. What has she discussed with the ACP? Did she tell him about what happened that evening?

The OBros had noticed how she had spoken about ACP Ranveer Singh Randhawa and looked at each other, and thought the same. "Something is going on, but what? Do you think she likes him? What does he want from her?"

Priyanka was happy to be alone for a little while. Alone with her thoughts. She smiled over the misunderstanding over her sindoor cut. She would go shower and freshen up.

In the shower she could not avoid her mind to stray towards her travel companion. Strangely, she missed him already. She could see his face clearly. She wondered what he would be doing now. What would happen now with the investigation? Should she not contact him? Has he eaten anything? In the last few days, she did noticed he didn't make time to properly eat. Spontaneously, she decided to go visit him and have dinner with him. She had convinced herself this would be only to discuss the case.

Ranveer had been reading and working for hours straight, ignoring the protests of his growling stomach. He had a mission and he could not stop now. He could feel he was so close to solving this case. Aside from his stomach, the only distraction he had difficulty fighting off was the memory of Miss Priyanka Oberoi. Her face kept on floating in his mind from time to time. Focus man!' He could not afford to daydream.

Ranveer made sure to go through all the files with personal data and pictures of all the Chhabra's who were in contact with the Oberois lately. He used the pictures and notes to put on the whiteboard in his office, hoping it might help him to connect the dots.

As he was staring at the whiteboard to find a connection at first glance, he could hear soft footsteps. He choose to ignore it since it made him think of Priyanka again. He turned around though by hearing her voice.
