Sharing A few thoughts about the Real Ragini.
The Ragini the CV's had actually created and later destroyed owing to... I don have to say it as the whole sundry know how and what happened to the Original Ragini who was strong, cunning, unapologetic and demanding. Lets see what shaped how the real Ragini was.
The defining thing about Ragini is her Obsession for Lucky. I would not call it love as love is pure and sacrificial. It gives only happiness, weather one sided or reciprocated. If one sided, it gives happiness to the person holding our affections and satisfaction to the loving party while it gives happiness and satisfaction to both parties when reciprocated.
I do understand Ragini can go to any lengths to own him. She will Kill, Abduct, Kidnap, Assault etc etc for the pleasure of owning him, like a procession, like people bid in biddings. They lose control of themselves and end up paying a very big price just for the thrill of owning it. The unwilling victims of Ragini's obsession of Lucky have been Swara and Shomi. The two ladies who up till some time back meant nothing more than pesky neighbors to her.
I think Ragini aided Swara's endeavor to help unite SheSho because it made her feel like a rebel for the first time. She had been too restrained and bottled up by her dear Dadi who decided when and she would breath. So, with Swara's aid, she was able to break free of Dadi's oppression and do something drastic, dramatic and of her own free will. The plus point being her Dad became happy and she got muft ki Maa and sister. While she did not mind her step mother and sister, she was not going to treat them as her own. Till when it suited her, she humoured them, once they threatened to upset her fictional fairly land. She was ready to rip them apart.
Ragini went to inhuman limits and became inhuman herself in her obsession for Lucky because he was symbol of her new found independence, authority, assertiveness etc. He was that forbidden fruit thanks to those inconsequential moments she spent with Lucky in the cupboard and terrace. Considering the kind of environment she was bought up, that was a very bold and naughty thing to do. This thing was like a drug to her and she began to assume that Lucky will be the one to free her from her oppressive surroundings.
And when, her bid to freedom, her drug, her little secret was taken away from her, she lost it all. She decided that she will have him by hook or by crook. It was not Love. Never ever Love. In love one always wants the happiness of the person they love. For Ragini, Lucky's happiness meant nothing. It held no importance whatsoever. Regarding Swara and Shomi, they became the obstacles she had to overcome in order to reach her goal and like a person suffering from mental illness and identity crises she did everything in the book to overcome them and reach her goal.
She just wanted to own him. Once she did own him, she realized something is missing. That her heard earned victory is tasting like ashes in her mouth. That she is not getting the same high and satisfaction that she has experienced before.
So she decided she wanted her Haq from Lucky. Very well knowing that, Lucky has still not forgotten her sister's and his brother's betrayal. She thought that once Lucky sleeps with her, has s*x with her, all his feelings for her sister will evaporate away and he will in the blink of the eye fall in love with her. This again shows how emotionally immature she was. She was living in the fairy tale land of hers where after marriage her n lucky will live happily ever after. When that did not happen, she theorized that may be since she has not consummated her relationship with Lucky, she is not happy. After Lucky beds her, he will forget her sister and fall for him. And to achieve this goal, she did not shy to level false rape charges on her BIL with the hopes that that would get Swasan out of her hair and Lucky will happily fall in her bed.
Oh, how I pity Ragini. Pity Ragini for her Ochi Sooch. And the biggest culprit for her abysmal condition is DADI. It was because of the tight leash Dadi kept on her made Ragini go bonkers when that leash loosened. She did all she could to throw off that leash when she got a chance, I don blame her for that. But I blame her for her own moral and emotional degradation. She misused and abused the freedom she got as SwaShe came into Garhodya house.
Ragini's condition is like that of a Person who when for the first time sat on a horse found that they could fairly well ride it. That gave them confidence to move. As they began to move, confidence became overconfidence and then the rider lost all this cognitive powers and began riding the horse harshly and rashly. To stop a horse galloping at full speed, one needs to slowly reduce his speed. Abrupt stopping will lead to the rider being thrown off the horse and end up having a terrible accident such that the rider can never fully recovered.
Similarly Ragini never fully recovered. Ragini was not given the chance to recover. She should have been given time and kept patience, then there was chance of her recovering some of her lost dignity. But time was brutally denied to Ragini and the overnight change neither brought accolades for her nor did she win anyone's heart. In fact people began mocking her and her Sau Chuhe Khakar Billi Chali Haj ko attidue. She turned stupid, dumb, useless and good for nothing in the blink of a eye from being clever and manipulative. Negative Ragini, many people loved, Positive Ragini is mostly ridiculed and written off. What a sad ending to a potentially good character. #RIPRagini
