Anil compares Sonam with Salman and SRK

It all happened during an interview with senior journalist Rajeev Masand,Anil Kapoor was all praise for his daughter. He mentioned how he always knew about Sonam's potential as an actress and even went on to say that he told Rajkumar Hirani, as Sonam will be doing a cameo in his next, that she has so much to offer, she's not even been scratched. She is so natural and such a good performer plus has an added advantage of a beautiful face. He even went on to say that he wished he was a filmmaker so that he could direct her.

All these things were fine until he did the unthinkable and compared Sonam Kapoor to the likes of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Comparing the critics' dismissive nature towards her to what critics still talk about Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, he said, "Salman Khan ko aaj tak bol rahe hain, Shah Rukh Khan ko aaj tak bol rahe hain, I told her, they don't wanna except them who are you yaar. As long as you are written about you are successful you are star just enjoy it. Fashionista! yes I am a fashionista."While we know where he is coming from but comparing Sonam Kapoor's acting chops with that of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan is a little too much I guess so.

To be honest he is actually not comparing her with Salman or Srk but I remember one IV of Anil Kapoor where he said that Sonam reminds him of Madhuri (he mentioned another actress I can't recall)

The entire Kapoor clan have their head permanently stuck in clouds. Just like Kareena she can say, " I am a Kapoor, delusion is in my genes."

Don't think he is comparing .. he is simply saying that if SRK and Salman are still being criticized then who are you to expect that they will accept you as a good actor.

In fact he is simply saying that SRK and Salman are much better than Sonam. (which is, of course, true :))
