He sits on the chair, gets up then paces around the room a bit to think. Finally he settles himself in the chair and calls Shiv Parsad in the cabinet.

Preet: Shiv Parsad call them at 2 O'clock becoz I have some important work in the evening.

BEEP BEEP BEEP alarm was promply doing it's job waking sleepy heads.😆
"urghhh, why does this happen to me every time?" 😡 Preet mumbles.
He looks side ways and found Meher sleeping.
He smiles and kisses on her forehead. He moves away slowly saying "Are you ready for today's surprise?" more for himself than her.
He headed towards washroom. He comes out in short while dressed in a grey color full sleeved T and dark jeans. He had gelled his hair. He takes his packed bag and starts to leave for the office.
...
Few minutes after...
Meher opens her eyes. She sat up on the bed feeling excited with a smile on her face. She turns to look at him but she found the bed empty. She pouts.
Meher: Preet at least wish tu kar dete. 🤔
Meher walked into the dining room. Heer and Kuldi were at the table, eating breakfast. Meher pulls a chair and sits down. She looks around. Kul di sees her and touches her arm.
Kulraj: Someone left early today. 😛
Meher looked surprised. Heer smiles and touches her face with her palm.
Heer: Meher, you do know what day it is today right?
Meher nodded, a slight smile appearing on her face. She looks down shyly and says "our wedding anniversary".
Kulraj: Aaj office kyoun jane diya us ghadde ko? I will ask him to come home early. You both should at least go out for dinner. I will talk to him. Meher smiles while taking some food in her plate.

In the office Preet is preparing for meeting. The phone bell rings.
Preet: Hello
Kulraj: Tu aaj office kyoun gaya? Did you forget what is today?
Preet: *In teasing mood* Kya hai aaj?
Kulraj: *bangs her forehead against her palm* Duffer aaj teri wedding anniversery hai. Tumien aaj ka din Meher ke saath spend karna chaiye tha. Dinner pe le kar jana chaiya tha. Lekin tu ghadda hai. 🤔
Preet: Di Bus bi karo. Office mein hoon. And today I have important meeting.Kulraj: Theek hai. Mein Meher ko office bhej deti hoon. Phir wohi tumien theek karien gi.
Preet: Di yeh kya bol rehi ho aap. Aisa kuch nahi karo gi. Plzzz plzz di. Aap mera surprise kharab karo gi. Aaj pehli bar toh yad hai mujhe.
Kulraj: Surprise ? 😲😳🤔
Preet: Haan di. I want to give surprise to her.
Kulraj: Ok mere bhai all the best.
Preet: Thank you. *He hangs up the phone*

Several thoughts crosses her mind. This is their second wedding anniversary. Her Preet is busy with meeting. Her restlessness prevented her from taking rest. She sits on her bed waiting for his call. She thought of calling him but changed her mind after. She wants to know whether he remembers or not.

Preet rushes out after the meeting has ended. He dials a number.
Preet: Hello is every thing ready?
Person: Yes sir. Jaisa bola tha waise hi kiya.
Preet: Thank you. *He hangs up and pushes his cell phone in his jeans' pocket.* He starts the car.
His thoughts briefly reflected on someone"Meher I know tum thoda gussa ho gi that I didn't wish you but yeh surprise tumein khush kar dein ga."
Meher: Preet kahan ho?
Preet: Matlab Meher every day at this time I am in office hai na.
Meher: Pata hai but aaj thoda jaldi nahi aa sakte ?

Preet: Haan woh ek friend ka phone aya tha. He is throwing a party and he has invited us. Tu mein tumein lene aya hoon. Aur tum gussa thi na toh tumare liye yeh beautiful flowers le kar aya hoon.😃😛
Meher looks at Preet with shock and murmurs
*Ye agai. Forget it. He didn't remember. Aaj hamari wedding anniversary hai. Theek hai mein bi yaad nahi karwaoo gi.*
Preet: Kya soch rehi ho? Go and get ready. Meher this is for you.
Meher looks at what Preet was handing over to her. It seems to be a box which was wrapped so neatly. Meher takes the parcel and started unwrapping it. She opens the box and finds a red saree with embroidery on the pallu. Surprised at this pattern and that too from Preet she glances at him questioningly.
Preet: Meher actually in party every one's wives are coming. So I want my wife to look beautiful. That is why I brought this.😛😛 Go and change quickly. We are running out of time.
In a short while Meher walks out of her room - it seemed like many hours for Preet as he got dressed in only five minutes.😳
Meher is wearing red saree with minimum jewllery. Preet simply sat staring at the beauty standing before him.
Meher: I am ready.
Expecting him to reply she looks up at him only to find him staring at her with a wide open mouth. She pinched his hand bringing him back to reality.
Preet: You look gorgeous. 😲
Meher: *Blushing but pretending to be angry* Thank you chalein ?
Preet: Yeah
They got inside their new red Audi R8 sports car - Preet's new muse 😎
Meher admired the way Preet dressed all in black. She noticed he has picked red tie to match with her saree as well as red kerchief. She knows Preet takes great care in dressing up for occasions - whether it's simple parties with his buddies or formal parties such as the present one. He hates full suits or formal Indian suits however when he had to he takes the pain to look his best! Shiny designer shoes that you can look your face in it 😳 full fitted lean Jacket and matching straight pants made him look taller than he actually is!! Her hubby is Hot!!!
This often gave a challenge for her self confidence whenever they have to attend a function together. But many time Preet has explained to her he loves her for the way she is not how she thinks she looks. For him she is beautiful. Meher smiles thinking of how sweet Preet is. 😳

After a long drive ...
Preet stops the car and comes out to Meher's side and open the door for her. Meher steps out carefully.
Meher looks around. She couldn't find anything. Darkness around her scared her. She felt and heard sound of water fall with harsh breeze as she walked on. She turns to Preet and asks "Where are we? Aren't you suppose to take me to your friend's party?"
Preet: Yes and we are here.
Meher: But Pree..
Preet: Shhh ... Close your eyes Meher.
Meher: Kyoun
Preet: Meher please. *She obediently closes her eyes*
He takes her hand and starts walking forward.
Preet: Open your eyes Meher.
Meher opens her eyes and gets shocked looking at the lake view in front of her.
It was decorated with balloons and lights. The decorated table had a cake and a red rose on it.
Preet: How is my surprise meri Meher?
Meher: It's so beautiful. 😃 You really surprised me Preet. 😃
Preet: Thank you Meher meri zandgi mein ane ke liye. ❤️ *He caresses her cheek* I hope you are not angry anymore.😉

Meher's smile lightened up the place. 😃 She replied "Happy anniversary to you too."🥳

He turns back and picks up a jewel box. It had a simple chain in it. Seeing her gift made Meher's smile widened from ear to ear. He went close to her and tied the chain around her neck.
She kisses his cheek. Preet smiles and takes her to the table that is waiting for them.
Meher: Yummy cake it's my favourite. *Meher gushed openly*
They cut the cake together and feed each other.
He caresses her soft face. She closes her eyes feeling passionate love.
Preet reaches on the table to switch on his ipod. Soon music begin to float in the air. Despite the fact they are standing very close to the lake and the natural sound of water moving to and from shore, they were able to listen in and enjoy.
Preet slowly goes closer and stretches out his palm, Meher understanding his silent request gives her hand and they begin to dance.
