Maya : ...to what NOT to do when in love. There's so much of good buried deep down in Maya but her experiences, her past and all the things that have ruined her have changed her into someone no one in their right minds would like to be with. Both Arjun and Saanjh were right in their observation of Maya. She does have a clean heart but there's so much of dirt covering it that it requires deep cleaning. Upar se kaala, ander se safed. Note how she used just those two colors (black and white) for the painting. She's that constructive force who can build you up if you manage to land in her good books but cross her and she'll tear you down. Her conscience is so badly damaged that in her pursuit of achieving all that she wants to, she goes beyond limits. The show's title couldn't be more apt as it goes so well with the three principal characters. She's beyhadh in her pursuit of power, control and love. Also, I do believe it was Maya who rendered Ashwin crippled. One of those encounters Maya and Ashwin might have had years ago, Maya must have broken his leg. The way she threatened him at the mall reminding him of what she's capable of, I cannot think of anything else but this theory.
Saanjh : ...to what NOT to do when in love, again. To not completely immerse yourself in loving someone so unconditionally that you no longer have the importance or value of your own. To not lose the grip on reality and blindly place your trust in someone so that when all your trust, dreams and hopes shatter, you can't face the truth. She's beyhadh in her selfless and unrequited love. As much as I feel for Saanjh, I think Maya unintentionally is going to bring out that fiercely strong woman in Saanjh who will show her that Maya's is not the only woman capable of destruction.
Arjun : ...to NOT be so ambitious that your own sense of judgement about people and situations is clouded. To not seek power and status so much that you lose your own home ground. He's beyhadh in his search for success. This guy is in deep, deep trouble. 🤣 Arjun ko akkal jab tak nahi aayegi jab tak woh pura barbaad na ho jaye. It is only then the epiphany will dawn upon him. I liked how he stood up to Maya for Saanjh though. He's essentially a duffer when it comes to a lot of things but the guy knows to stand for women or rather his women (Maya and Saanjh) when need be.
The show is doing pretty well and I don't seem to have too many complaints. Who wouldn't get freaked out by that side of Maya, though? Eeeks! 😳 Poor baby, Saanjh :( Vandana has already sensed that Maya means spells doom, her motherly alarms went off ever since she met Maya for the first time. One thing that is constantly up to the mark in this show is the performances of the cast. Jennifer slays as Maya in every frame she appears in. Aneri's pretty good as Saanjh, I don't find her annoying as some sections of the fandom does. Kushal is decent but I do think he needs improvement.
