I have not seen the movie but you know the character you are describing they have tried to ape that into a Indian tv show character I recently watched - Beyhadh. The lead character is exactly what you described! First I thought they were trying to copy Sonia from Aitraaz, but Sonia was not crazy she was just manipulative. Btw I totally agree about Vidya! The amount of mystery Vidya is able to bring to her character nobody can, she can make you believe whatever she wants. PC would comes a come close second and Kangana- Bebo after that.
I totally cant see Anu-Deepu pulling off a character like this!

But Amy is nothing like Sonia. Sonia was a manipulative, gold digger. But Amy is downright sociopath. She will leave no stone unturned to victimize herself if things don't go her way. I mean she can go to the extent of making up stories about her own father sexually abusing her just to seek attention and care from her high school BF (This part was not shown in the movie though )
She made up stories and had the mastery to make people completely believe in her stories.

She's one twisted character. Very, very fascinating.

i like Priyanka in these roles (Saat Khoon Maaf. Yakeen etc). I think she'd be the best.

Kangana for reasons other people stated. She could pull it off.

I would prefer actors who tend to do indie movies more to play Amy.
