Child artists Rudra Soni and Jagrati Sethia to play Baajirao and Mastaani on small screen
Well we had all seen the film Bajirao Mastani and loved Ranveer Singh in the role . Now Sony TV is all set to recreate the magic of Bajirao Mastani in new show called Peshwa Bajirao . The story will trace the journey of young Peshwa Bajirao from childhood to adulthood and yes his love story with Mastaani . The child selected to play Bajirao's title role is child actor Rudra Soni. The shoot of the show will start this week in Wai Maharashtra. Child actress Jagrati Sethia will play the Mastaani in the show. The role of grown up Mastani though will be played by Bollywood actress Isha Koppikar .
Rudra is currently seen as Manav in Sab TV's show Balveer and has done many commercials as well. Bajirao's parents role will be played by Manish Wadwa and Anuja Sathe. Anuja, who was last seen as the lead in Star Plus show Tamanna, will play reprise Tanvi Azmi's role of Radha Bai in the show. Manish, who has done many serials like Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Chandragupta Maurya will be playing Peshwa Balaji Vishwanath, father of Bajirao.
The show is been produced by Sphere Origins and will be shot in Satara and Wai at real locations. A set is been erected in Mumbai where whole of Pune and Shanivar vada will be recreated. The serial will be shot at the same scale and grandeur like Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.Apparently some 100 crores will be spend for the grandeur of the show.
Many producers have been toying the idea to make Bajirao Mastani on TV. Along with Sony TV even & TV was also working on the concept. In 2011 Ekta Kapoor was also toying with the idea of making a serial on Bajirao Mastani with Rajat Tokas but things did not work out. So after the films success it's now Sony Tv's attempt to recreate the same magic of the 18th century epic love story .
Though earlier there was show called Bajirao Mastani on DD. In Marathi though a serial has been made on the same subject but after the film now there is a scope to tell the story of the Maratha warrior in detail. Though the serial with begin will tracing the journey of Bajirao childhood to warrior and later on will focus on the live story . Along with that young Mastaani story will also be shown and finally as they grow up their romance will be explored .
Though film Bajirao Mastani was adapted from a marathon novel Rau by N. S. Inamdar . Sanjay Leela Bhansali had adapted this book but in serial it's not the case . In serial details of characters are higher so many fictional elements are created to enhance the drama.
