Before I begin, lets give this show's writing and its execution and the brilliant performances by the cast, particularly Jennifer Winget a round of applause. 👏 I'm so glad that this show is a finite one which means less chances of it getting ruined over the course of its run. Now, on to the topic. I fundamentally see two alternate endings to this show but the pattern being the same whichever course it takes.
This is essentially Maya's story, as in she is the central character of this story and the most pivotal one. But for this particular post, lets give that position to Arjun because the number of women going to play significant roles in the story and his life are more. So, Arjun is a man whose destiny and fate is going to be shaped by these three women, Maya, Saanjh and Vandana. I think it will be these three women who are going to turn his life and his world upside down and then set it right again. I think Arjun is going to learn a lot from these women and because of these women the hard way.
Arjun-Maya : I see Arjun and Maya more as a catalysts and defining forces in each other's lives than just potential love interests. I love Maya, I do. She has all my heart, my empathy and all my support. She is the way she is because of her past, she didn't turn into this Maya because she wanted to, she did because she was made to. But once she starts displaying her Beyhadh-ness in Arjun's love, I'm pretty sure my moral compass isn't going to allow me to ship Arjun and Maya together. 😳
Lets face it, its extremely hard to be able to peacefully co-exist with people who are suffering from mental health issues without compromising on some of your own sanity. They need extreme care, caution and medical help and not a love who is going to magically cure them of all their issues. Nope, that's not how it works in real life. While presence and support of loved one's in the form of family and friends is of utmost importance, to expect that Arjun's love is going to cure Maya of all her illness and pain is stupidity. He can be a driving force and a pillar of strength but no, he cannot cure Maya. Sometimes, people come into your life not to stay in it forever but to teach you some very important lessons or to play a significant role in your life that it changes for the good...or may be even bad. Arjun is THAT force/person in Maya's life who is going to bring out the WORST in her but hopefully by the end, the BEST in her.
As for Maya's presence in Arjun's life, she's that force who is going to wreck havoc in his life, break him, discipline him, and basically tear him to shreds and then his loved one's will have to come running to rescue him, Saanjh and Vandana being the two of them. It is when Arjun will have faced the worst times of his life will he realise Saanjh and his step-mother's true value. Arjun and Maya don't give me any mills and boons vibes, they're here to tear each other down and then rebuild each other up.
Arjun-Saanjh : I feel for Saanjh, I do. Poor girl has loved one man all her life, loved him with everything she had and now Maya's here to snatch away that love of hers from her. However, something tells me Arjun and Saanjh are going to be the end game. I'm not too good with symbolism (like Shruthi is) but all the symbolic instances every now and then do seem to hint towards this end. Whether is Saanjh saving Arjun (and her life) in the first episode by removing Maya's dupatta from his face or whether Arjun telling that he feels at home when he's with her. When looking for a life partner and living a good life, it is that feeling that you search for. Home. Love. Peace. Not chaos. Maya is that chaos and Saanjh is that peace. Also, Saanjh's can't be a lawyer just for the namesake. She will definitely come to Maya's or Arjun's rescue, more likely Arjun's. I can almost picture an Aitraaz here, Maya in a bid to claim her love and owing to her beyhadh-ness vowes to destory Arjun in every possible manner. She might implicate Arjun falsely into a court case and viola, enters Saanjh as his savour. She might be just dying after Arjun's attention and love now but I definitely think this girl has a lot to do in future.
Arjun-Vandana : She vows to herself that she will make her own place in Arjun's heart. Amidst the whole Arjun-Maya-Saanjh chaos, she will probably come out as one of Arjun's biggest support pillars making Arjun realise that she does truly love him as a mother and like his own mother would had she been alive.
End game (ship) : Again, all of my theories could prove wrong and the tables can very well turn because, Indian/Hindi television, again. 😆 But like I said, Arjun and Saanjh seem to have an upper hand here. Who do I ship? Personally, I don't ship any of the pairs at this point. I might as we progress but then I watch this show for its intriguing concept and content, not for the ships. As long as the show is executed well enough, I personally don't mind Arjun ending up with either of the women or ending up alone for that matter. I am more inclined towards Maya's character though, such a welcome change she is to the stereotypes. 😳
Ending : Maya could either end up like Priyanka's character from Aitraaz or she could be shown seeking cure for her conditions/issues while trying to build a better life for herself and her mother with or without Arjun in her life. Arjun, Saanjh and the entire team could be showing leading a happily-ever-after life. Or if all of my predictions and theories go wrong, it could be the exact opposite or something very different, who knows?
So far, so good. I like how the show is doing except for its pace at times which gets incredibly slow and some illogicality that gets stuffed into our face here and there. I'm willing to exempt that because, Hindi television, again. 😆
