Spoilers are here so if you don't want to read ADHM spoilers leave this thread please:

Without a doubt I believe Fawad's role was chopped down/ scenes were cut. True, it was a cameo but it was way too short even for a cameo, and a important/crucial one as was described to us. The movie ends with what I think a lot of unanswered questions, which left me disappointed and a bit confused. It didn't seem like an ending the director envisioned. The scene I have as my icon is one of the scenes not there and I was really hoping to see. I was thinking that Ranbir's character was going to get FK & AS characters back together or something but I was wrong, I wonder if they was the real ending but they changed it to have less of Fawad perhaps. I feel like Fawad fans were lied to by them not letting us know of the missing scenes. Anyone who think his scenes weren't cut obviously are ignoring what I think is obvious evidence. Hopefully they are on DVD and they let us know so I won't be wasting more money.

This is what I think, anyway. What do you guys think? 😊

P.S. Sorry if someone already made a thread like this, I haven't been on here for a while so I wouldn't know.

The star cast had a potential opening of easy 21 Cr ...FK's bikini size role made a dent of 7-8 cr

If they weren't chopped ...Film reviews would have covered him(no mention of FK now)...and ADHM opening would have been 6-7 Cr...IMO

Either ...KJo just milked his token presence for publicity...or his Ego came in the way of eliminating the role ...or could be both

@Tm, Where was the FK scene from your dabba in the movie? Cant seem to recall. Was it during the time Alizeh accompanies Ali on his tour?

There were articles beforehand of KJo cutting short Fawad's role after URI controversy... You can't blame him!

Yes his scenes were chopped undoubtedly. Also their country of origin was changed. Lahore was changed to Lucknow .
Ayan goes around the world without thinking about Visa and he mentioned Visa problem to Anu when she invited him to her wedding . That was a BLOOPER
Frankly I didn't get hype around FK , his diction is very good, but look wise , Imaran Abbas was hotter than FK

Glad that happened. Now we will never able to see his behuda n badsurat shakl again in bollywood! Movie might have earned more if there was no fawad! ! ! ! Anyways people to really happy that his role is short n my frnd told me when he appeared people jeered him here! !

Yes...Written by S K Jha...people said it is BS since not confirmed by makers ...Retrospect, looks like Jha was indeed speaking the truth

Yes it has been cut. it defo spoils the narrative.

And a lot of ppl sighed when he came onscreen in India. So only Anti national ppl went to watch the movie😆

In my cinema third loudest cheers after SRK(ofcourse) and Ash. And I was not watching in Pakistan or somewhere outside India. I was watching in a single screen in India and all the cheers were from MEN. 😉

@TM: I am not worried if Fawad's scenes were cut or not. I cant judge for sure unless someone reliable confirms it. The movie was from Ayaan's POV and even Alizeh and Saba were not that important. The other men in their lives even less important. My biggest take away was Fawad dancing. He danced with so much energy. Reminded me of Varun and Shahid there.

Also I am super happy that Pakistani artist Fawad film beat shudh non Pakistani film Shivay by 5cr. People were saying Fawad will end BW's raj dulara Ranbir's film. Now Ranbir's PR cant blame Fawad for his career atleast. 😉

Talking about facts and figures trade even predicted combined total of ADHM and Shivay to be less than Krissh3. But they have together beaten it. And as per trade the film was perceived as a Fawad film and not a Ranbir film by the public.

Diwali Releases To Face Testing Times Over Weekend

This week will see a big box office battle between Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay but it will testing times over the weekend for both films until the business picks up hugely on Monday and it will be Wednesday when the films will settle to normal level collections. The Friday - Sunday period before Diwali is simply one of the worst periods for collections and despite both films having pluses for an opening with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil having hit music and Shivaay having action its unlikely the pluses will show in the numbers. The period is such that even if one film has good reports it can still see falling collections over the weekend. It actually will not even matter much which film is leading on Friday as the key is to be leading on Monday and the film leading on Monday is likely to come out on top in this clash.

In 2009, All The Best opened to just 1.82 crore but two days later on Diwali holiday it was doing over 7 crore nett a jump of around 300% which shows how irrelevant the pre Diwali level can be. The reports will be crucial as only if they are good will Monday go to that big number that both films will need as numbers over the weekend will be low.

A few years back in 2013 the Hrithik Roshan film Krrish 3 had opened to 18.93 crore nett on the same day and that is the figure that both films combined will be looking to cross maybe by 10-15%. But Krrish 3 was a big universal commercial film so that growth in business over the last few years may be negated by the fact that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay are not as universal as Krrish 3. It will not be a huge shock even if both films combined can't get to the Krrish 3 total but as long as they make ground from Monday onward its not much of an issue.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil And Shivaay Advance Booking

The advance results of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay are not up to the mark for such big releases but that is expected due to Diwali. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has taken a good lead at multiplexes in the bigger centres while Shivaay is ahead in smaller cities. The overall lead is healthy for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil mainly because there is a trend of more advance in the big centres and the advance of Shivaay started in large on Wednesday as against Monday of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. This would suggest a better opening day number for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil but there is the factor about the how the on the day audience behaves as there is an anti Pakistan stance in the country and the media has done a good job of making this Ranbir Kapoor starrer look like a Fawad Khan starrer though he may hardly be in the film.

The problem with Shivaay is that its best areas are hit by pre Diwali much more than the best markets for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Places like UP, Gujarat, Bihar, CP Berar, CI and Rajasthan are affected hugely by pre Diwali and only really start collecting from Monday onward. Shivaay is still looking to collect more than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in these areas but the margins are going to much less than if it was a normal period. The advantage for Shivaay is that is the potential to jump more on Monday than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil as these circuits will have huge growth on Monday but reports will have to support. South India is hardly affected by pre Diwali and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has a bigger draw down there and could be double of Shivaay in Mysore. Delhi and the big cities of Punjab are also better for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil but these markets will also come to the fore on Monday.

Actually both films should have been released on Monday but with a clash it is harder as both parties have to agree as you can't have one on Friday and the other Monday because theatre bookings are for a week and the Monday film would have had issues getting the optimum screens.

If collections go as the advance then Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will have the lead for the first three days but Monday is the day when the crowds come back and the film leading on that day will go on to do better business.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Opens Well - Shivaay Lower

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has opened well at the box office despite the clash with Shivaay. The initial is around 35-40% on average which is actually good if you consider its pre Diwali. The film is being led by the high end multiplexes and some of these even managed to take a 50% start. If it was a normal day it would be putting up a strong first number as city youth has come initially but with pre Diwali its hard to tell how much of the evening audience will come out. The anti Pakistan wave across the country does not seem to have affected the film. There was a similar type of issue when the Shahrukh Khan starrer Dilwale released and markets like North, Central and Gujarat under performed very badly. Here North and Gujarat seem fine while Central was anyway not expected to be good for this type of film. Though the weekend and Monday collections will tell more.

Shivaay has taken a lower opening at around 25% as its business at multiplexes in most parts of the country is lower than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The film despite being an action film is hit much more than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil by pre Diwali as the mass markets remain very low till Monday. The Muslim mass centres in places like UP and Gujarat could have opened better as they are less into Diwali festivities but the film has a name like Shivaay which probably takes some of the audience away in these centres. The film will find it tough going until the audience comes back at these mass centres on Monday and then teh film will need the reports to be good enough to get the full benefit of the big holiday period.
