Titiksha Shrivastava, who is seen in Jagriti: Ek Nayi Subah, is playing a negative character in the show. Though still early in her career, she is quite content with her character as it is proving her versatility.
She said, "Honestly, what intrigued me the most was the intention behind the negativity. Geeta was never born out of darkness—her core was always positive, but her pain, her motherhood, and her loss made her take a path that wasn’t right. I was drawn to that complexity."

"As an actor, I didn’t want to limit myself to only good or positive portrayals. I wanted to explore the human layers—the rights, the wrongs, and everything in between. The idea that her actions were negative, but her intent came from love, made this part irresistible. And I believe versatility comes from such risks," she added.
Asked how she approached Geeta's character, she said that it was with empathy and not judgment. She said, "I tried to understand why she chose a certain path rather than labeling her as right or wrong."

I built her world from her pain, not her anger. Once I connected to her emotional truth, her actions started to make sense to me, and that’s what I tried to translate on screen," she added.
Titiksha confessed that some emotionally charged scenes make her feel heavy and aggressive sometimes; however, she added, "Over time, I realized that silence and meditation are the best ways to return to yourself. I consciously take time to just sit quietly, focus on my breath, and detach from the character."
She further said, "It’s like reminding myself—'You lived her truth for a while; now come back to your own.'"
She believes that her character, Geeta’s journey, is not about hatred; it’s about hurt. She said, "Her vulnerability lies in her motherhood—the same love that once made her nurturing has now turned her vengeful. The intention was never evil; the path she chose was. That’s why I call her a "grey" character, not a negative one.
"It’s a portrayal of how even the kindest souls can lose their balance when life hits them hard," Titiksha ended.
