I know this was originally an one-shot, then a two-shot, but I was thinking of re-writing the end of EDKV and the one-shot was written before the news of the show ending came out, when I re-read the one-shot I felt like this is the way I want to carry on, so this is now officially a short-story because I can't stop writing this.
I will also be doing another cannon fic after I finish my current SS: Coming Home, but that'll spin off at another time so for the time being this is how I imagined EDKV going. I have so much to write but so little time so bear with me please :)
P.S. This chapter is super-duper long.
Chapter 3 - New Beginnings
Suman and Shravan Malhotra sat among her family at the Tiwari Villa a few days later, they had decided to visit Naanu because he was feeling a bit under the weather but he seemed to be doing just fine. Shravan had whispered in Sumo's ear that her Manju Mami's absence was probably the reason for Naanu's recovery, the comment had earned him a pointed look from Sumo who had tried to stifle her smile.
With Manju and Sameer gone to Kanpur, the house was quite empty. Rachna was seated on the couch beside Naanu, and Sumo was sitting on the couch opposite from where Shravan was sitting, she had moved when Daboo had walked in and made himself comfortable beside his Shravan jeeju, an upgrade from Shravan bhaiyaa.
Shravan had Dabboo in his lap and he was teaching him to how solve a Rubik's cube on Daboo's insistence, but Shravan was happy playing teacher. The conversation had lulled when Shravan had pulled Daboo into his lap to explain how to crack the cube, Sumo was watching Shravan with a smile on her face as he explained things to Daboo. "But the center pieces don't move, at all, that's how you determine - uh choose, that's how you choose the colour of the side." He said to Daboo who nodded.
Sumo's smile grew slightly noticing how he dumbed down his explanations for Daboo, no matter how smart her little cousin was, he was still only a kid. Sumo couldn't help but notice that Shravan's voice was softer and slower as he interacted with Daboo. He was so patient as Daboo tried to move the pieces around, and he only piped in with instructions when Daboo made a frustrated sound. This was the Shravan she had been missing, the patient one that she knew in her childhood, the one that put up with her childishness without batting an eye-lash.
Sumi's mind automatically assaulted her with images of how he would be with his own kids, with their kids, she could see him spoiling their kids rotten and being fiercely overprotective. Now that she thought about she realized that Shravan would be a great father and just the thought of having kids with him made her stomach fill with butterflies. There was a slight flush to her face when she realized that kids were still far off considering they had yet to take the next step in their very new relationship.
"You should solve the white edges first." Shravan said and watched as Daboo complied. "Good, okay now you want to make a cross in the middle." Shravan said to Daboo as the two of them worked on the cube, slowly. Sumo watched the slight smile on Shravan's face grow as Daboo lined up the cube in the way he was supposed to. "Good!" Shravan said. "Now, we fix the white corners."
"How?" Daboo groaned in exasperation.
"Do you remember the two directions I told you?" Shravan asked and Daboo nodded. "Okay, so spin the sides counter-clockwise."
"It's not working!" Daboo groaned as he frantically moved the pieces around.
"Because you're spinning clockwise Daboo." Shravan chuckled ruffling his hair. "Remember you have to spin the opposite way from which the clock goes."
Sumo smiled as she sipped on her tea, she was so busy staring at Shravan and Daboo that she failed to realize that Rachna and Naanu were watching her with a knowing smile as she looked at her husband. Rachna was beaming, glad that everything seemed to be working out between Shravan and Suman, she was surprised that anyone had missed that Suman had feelings for Shravan considering the way she was looking at him now.
Naanu's eyes bounced back and forth between Shravan and Suman, and he felt happy with the decision of getting the two of them married. He understood that they weren't on good terms at the time of the wedding, but he knew the two of them would work their problems out, and they seemed to have worked everything out just fine - the glow and happiness that had been missing on Suman's face for a while was back and he was glad.
"Suman." Rachna Maasi said but got no response, the smiles on Naanu and Rachna's faces grew when they realized that Suman was in fact lost. "Sumannn." Rachna tried again but to no avail.
"Suman beta." Naanu said with a smile causing Sumo to jump a little in her spot and meet Naanu's eyes.
"Yes Naanu?" Sumo asked wondering what she had missed.
"I've been calling you for the past five minutes." Rachna teased causing Suman to flush red. "But you're so lost in Shravan." She said with a laugh.
Sumo's eyes went back to Shravan who was looking up at her now, he had a soft smile on his face seeing her flushed face and wide eyes. Shravan winked at her conspicuously and tried to hide the laughter that threatened to erupt with a cough as Suman turned even redder.
"Uh, Maasi, I wasn't-."
"It's okay, newlyweds, I understand." She teased as she gathered up the cups.
"I did it!" Daboo said euphorically. "Suman Di look!" He said holding up the Rubik's cube.
"Wow! Good job Daboo!" Suman beamed at her excited younger cousin.
"Thank you Shravan Bhaiyaa, I mean Jeeju." He smiled up at Shravan who laughed and ruffled his hair. "You are a better teacher than Suman Di."
"Hm, switching teams, I see how it is." Suman said, playfully narrowing her eyes at Daboo who just beamed up at her with an innocent smile.
Naanu let out a chuckle as he got up from the couch. "I think it's time for my nap." He announced.
"I'll take you up Naanu." Suman said getting off the couch.
"I can do it myself." Naanu said.
"I have to make sure you take your medication." Suman smiled.
"Okay." Naanu chuckled knowing there was no winning with Suman on this matter.
"I want to learn the other cube too, the big one with lots of squares!" Daboo said to Shravan as Naanu and Suman disappeared out the door towards the staircase leading to Naanu's room.
"I don't have mine right now." Shravan said with a shrug.
"Suman Di has one! It is in her room!" Daboo said looking up at Shravan hopefully.
"Let's go find it then." Shravan said getting up and following Daboo into the room. Daboo ran to Suman's desk and opened the top drawer and took out the cube as Shravan sat on the edge of the bed in the room.
"Di always plays with this but she can't solve it." Daboo said holding up the cube as Shravan sat down on the bed, patting the spot next to him. He recalled that during his first visit to the Tiwari Villa, after he came back from England, Daboo seemed to know all about how good he was with Rubik's cubes and figured that Sumo had talked about him while he was gone.
"What else does your Di do?" Shravan asked intrigued at the new information Daboo was providing him.
"She talks to your picture a lot." Daboo said pointing to the childhood picture of the two of them on her desk. "She only does it when she is really sad and when she misses you." He said innocently as he sat down beside Shravan.
"She only talks to that picture?" Shravan asked, curiosity was dripping from his voice but Daboo failed to notice.
"She had more before, I don't know where they went." Daboo shrugged. "And she also has new pictures on her laptop, she talks to those too."
"Pictures of me?" Shravan asked confused and Daboo nodded giving Shravan a look that screamed who else would she be talking to. Shravan felt a warm feeling in his chest that he couldn't quite explain, it was a feeling that came about a lot these days when Sumo was involved.
"Shravan jeeju?" Daboo said tentatively after a few moments.
"What?" Shravan asked noticing the hesitance on Daboo's face.
"Do you love Suman Di?" He asked peering up at Shravan with his wide innocent eyes.
"I do." Shravan nodded wondering why he was asking.
"How do you know you love her?" He asked confused.
"Why are you asking?" Shravan asked intrigued.
"Well...you can't tell anyone, pinky promise first!" Daboo said holding out his pinky and Shravan complied hooking his large pinky finger with Daboo's tiny one.
"I won't tell, pinky promise." Shravan said with an amused smile.
"There is this girl in my class..." Daboo said and Shravan nodded trying to hide his smile. "I think I like her but I am not sure." Daboo admitted.
Shravan was amused by the situation; it was quite cute. But he wondered what the right response was, he knew that Manju Mami would have told Daboo that he was too young to like or love anyone, but Shravan wasn't sure if age was a factor. He knew he loved Sumo at the mere age of sixteen, albeit Daboo was only 10, but he figured times had changed and children today were different.
"How do you feel when you talk to her?" Shravan asked hoping that he was asking the right questions.
"I don't really talk to her, she sits at the front, her last name starts with A." Daboo pouted causing Shravan to shake as he tried to stifle his laughter, he remembered how much he hated alphabetical seating too.
"Why do you think you like her?" Shravan asked.
"I don't know. She's always mean to me...but I want to talk to her, and I don't like it when other people talk to her." Daboo shrugged, his voice was quiet and unsure.
"Other people?" Shravan asked curiously.
"Yeah, like Sahil Bijlani, he sits right behind her and he always talks to her and I don't like it." Daboo explained causing Shravan to smile as he realized that Daboo was jealous. "You don't like it when other guys talk to Suman Di either right?" Daboo asked. "That's why you beat up Aditya, because you love Suman Di?"
Shravan tensed slightly before sighing, he realized that Daboo was too young to realize what had actually happened so he tried to explain the situation in a way he would understand. "The thing with Aditya was very different than what we are talking about Daboo. Aditya did a bad thing, he...wasn't nice to your Suman Di so I hit him." Shravan explained. "I didn't hit him because he was talking to Sumo, you don't hit people for talking to the girl you might like, she can talk to anyone she wants to talk to, okay?" Shravan said and waited for Daboo to nod before he continued.
"I love Sumo, and I want her to spend all her time with me, so sometimes I get jealous when she talks to other people because I want her to talk to me. And that's okay, sometimes, it just means you want to spend time with the person. But you can't force a person to talk to you, everyone has lots of friends and you have to learn to share." Shravan stopped talking when he realized he had no idea where he was going with this.
"So what do I do?" Daboo asked Shravan, his voice hopeful as if Shravan had all the answers in the world, Shravan wanted to laugh, his own love life had been a mess until a few days ago. Even though he was married to the love of his life he had zero experience with girls, crushes, and how to act.
"Try to talk to her, say hi and play with her. Sometimes we think we like someone and we really don't, and you won't know until you talk to her."
"How do I know if she likes me back?" Daboo asked confused.
"Well, she might like you or she might not, that's her decision. But you can always tell her that you like her." Shravan said realizing that he didn't really know what to tell Daboo.
"What if she stops talking to me?" Daboo asked, his eyes wide.
"She might, but at least you'll know." Shravan shrugged.
"Is that what you did with Suman Di?" Daboo asked.
"I never tried to tell her, I wrote her a letter." Shravan admitted to Daboo.
"So I should write her a letter?" Daboo asked hopeful causing Shravan to chuckle.
"How about you just try to talk to her right now and try to see if you like her? And then we can talk about this again." Shravan said.
"But you're never here!" Daboo exclaimed sadly.
"Well you have my number and Sumo's number, so just call me and I'll come talk to you." Shravan smiled ruffling his hair.
"Okay, but you can't tell anyone!" Daboo reminded him.
"Not even Sumo?" Shravan asked and Daboo shook his head vehemently.
"Suman Di will try her best to get it out of you, she pouts and pretends to be angry, don't fall for it." Daboo said touching Shravan's arm as if he was sharing a huge secret with Shravan.
"What are you two up to?" Suman said piping up from her spot at the door, Shravan took one look at her amused face and guessed that she had heard a lot of the conversation.
"Nothing." Daboo smiled up at Sumo innocently.
"Don't you have homework to do?" She asked arching her eyebrow at Daboo.
"I don't feel like doing it."
"You know Daboo, girls like smart guys." Sumo said sitting on the other side of Daboo.
"You heard?!" Daboo exclaimed, his face falling.
"Just a little bit." Sumo laughed. "Don't worry, I won't tell Mami." She said ruffling his hair.
"Girls like smart guys?" Daboo asked curiously, taking bait.
"They do, that's one of the reasons I like Shravan, he's sooo smart." Sumo said looking up at Shravan who arched his eyebrow at her in amusement.
"You said he was a nerd." Daboo said causing Shravan to chuckle as Sumo flushed.
"There is nothing wrong with nerds." She explained. "Look at Shravan, he is a really good lawyer now, isn't he?"
"You said he's the best. He went to Okvard." Daboo nodded.
"Right, Oxford, and you need to study really hard to become the best. So you're going to go do your homework and study for your tests right?" Sumo asked and Daboo nodded excitedly realizing that being like Shravan could be advantageous.
"Are all nerds tall?" Daboo asked hopefully causing Shravan to let out a chuckle as Sumo tried to stifle her laughter.
"No, but drinking lots of milk and eating healthy food helps." Sumo said, twisting the situation to her advantage.
"Okay, so I am going to go drink milk and then do my homework." Daboo announced happily before he ran out of the room leaving Shravan and Sumo sitting on her bed.
"You are evil." Shravan laughed when he was sure Daboo was out of ear shot. "The poor boy."
"What? He needs a push to do his work." Sumo shrugged with a smile. "That conversation was cute though, I can't believe you were giving a ten-year-old such serious love advice." She teased. She had stopped short at the door when Daboo was making Shravan pinky promise to not tell anyone, her heart had just about melted at the sight.
"I was kind of lost." He admitted with a laugh.
"You're good with him." Sumo sighed with a smile. "I didn't know you were that good with kids."
"I didn't know either." Shravan smiled before his face took on a mischievous expression. "So you only love me because I am smart Oxford grad?" He teased.
"Of course, that's the only reason." She teased right back, her eyes going to the picture of the two of them on the side table. Shravan caught her gaze and recalled what Daboo had said to him about the pictures.
"So you were asking my picture for homework help then?" He asked nonchalantly, Sumo's eyes widened in question. "Daboo said you talked to the picture." Shravan shrugged.
"Daboo needs to keep his mouth shut." She laughed before sobering up. "I talked to your picture and mom's picture a lot, especially when life got stressful or I felt sad, it surprisingly helped even though you two didn't talk back." She shrugged sheepishly. Shravan's heart broke for her a bit as he figured that she must have been just as lonely as him in the ten years they spent apart.
Shravan slid across the bed and pulled Sumo into his side, wrapping his arm around her waist. He felt her melt into his body and put her head on his shoulder as the two of them sat in her room in silence.
"I have something to show you." Sumo said after a few minutes realizing that there was one thing in his room that he really needed to see. Shravan's hold on her loosened as she got up off the bed and walked towards the cabinet in her room. She propped it open and bent down to pull out a cardboard box that was at the bottom of the cabinet before turning around and walking towards him, the box in her hands.
Shravan recognized it as the box she had dropped and refused to let him carry a few months ago, when he came back and was trying to persuade her to come to the reunion party. Sumo sat on the bed again, cross legged and indicated that he sit like her too, Shravan gave her a confused look but took his shoes off and pulled his feet onto the bed.
Sumo pushed the box towards him slightly urging him to open it silently, the confused look on Shravan's face grew as he lifted the cardboard cover up and peered into the box. For a second he was confused seeing the sheer amount of colourful cards and papers but then he saw pictures of the two of them and something clicked. Sumo smiled at him slightly and picked up the box before dumping the contents onto the bed.
Shravan's eyes grew wide as he looked at the things strewn on the bed, the pictures were the most obvious, but he caught sight of numerous cards, some said happy birthday and others sorry. There were also little trinkets, Shravan smiled when he caught sight of the keychain he had won for her at the fair - his aim had sucked too much to win her the big bear she had wanted but she had been happy with the key chain as well.
His fingers reached for the little pieces of paper that looked like receipts and the shock on his face grew as he realized that they were admission tickets - to movies, to fairs and other places they had gone together, the colour of them was fading, and the text on some of them was barely legible.
His eyes grew wide when he saw a stack of cards bounded together, he recognized the one at the top as the birthday card he had gotten her for her 15th birthday. He pulled at the strings holding the stack together and realized that she had kept all the cards and letters he had given her. He smiled remembering the amount of thought and time that went into picking the perfect card for her.
Shravan smiled picking up all the pictures of the two of them, he was quite sure she had every picture they had ever taken together before he left for England. He could see the finger smudges on a lot of them, like they had been touched numerous times. Shravan looked up at her in question when he noticed that some of them were slightly ripped in the middle, like someone had purposely tried to rip them apart.
Sumo sighed before she spoke. "I did that after I agreed to marry Aditya because of Naanu, I was so angry and done with myself, that's when reality truly hit and I realized that you really weren't an option - I think this was just my attempt to cut you out of my life for good because I couldn't stop thinking about you even after everything. But I couldn't even go through with getting rid of any of this." She murmured as Shravan took in a staggered breath wondering how much the two of them had ended up hurting each other. She was struggling with the Aditya situation just as much as him.
Shravan's eyes then went to a little box, he recognized the blue velvet box as one he had given her. He propped the lid open and smiled when he saw the gold and emerald stud earrings he had gotten her once - they were fake, the gold paint had turned green in spots, and the emerald was dull - it was clear that they had been heavily worn.
"You kept them?" He asked looking up at her in shock, there were tears swimming in his eyes and hers, she had started tearing up at the astonished look on his face and the tears in his eyes.
"I wore them everyday for years, they are my absolute favourite." She smiled with a shrug.
"You love emeralds." He whispered remembering why he had gotten them for her.
"You're the only one that remembered, a lot of people bought me jewellery but you're the only one that remembered what I liked and didn't like - you always remembered." She said through her tears, Shravan reached over and wiped them away before shaking his head at her telling her to not cry.
His eyes went back to the contents scattered on the bed and he breathed in deeply before he picked up the cards that he didn't recognize. His eyes went up to her in question, wondering what they were. "I got you a birthday card every year, and I bought a lot of sorry cards in the beginning, at first I thought you would come back in the summers and I kept them to give to you. Sometimes I thought of mailing them but I could never get myself to go through with it." She said sadly.
"And this?" He asked seeing the papers that were clearly filled with her writing.
"Letters I wrote you, it's mostly just talking about what I had been up to, how much I missed you and...just about how I was feeling." She said sheepishly.
"Can I read them?" He asked hesitantly.
"You can read anything in here, they are all for you." She said, tears streaming down her face now. Shravan sighed and pushed the empty box off the bed before reaching for her and pulling her into his lap. "What are you doing?" She sniffled as he managed to turn her around and place her on his lap, her back was against the front of his body, and her legs were crossed on top of his.
"Getting comfy, we are reading everything." He said wrapping his arms around her, Sumo relaxed into his hold, telling herself that this was all normal but her heart jumped in her chest every time he pulled her close like this - which had been happening a lot in the past few days. They were always either laying in each other's arms or she was in his lap - and it was all so comfortable but also exciting.
Sumo tried to calm her erratic heart down as Shravan picked up the first letter, he rested his chin on her shoulder as he started reading it. And that's how they spent the rest of the day - in her room, going through all the letters and cards. There were occasional tears, some laughs and lots of explanations from Sumo's side whenever Shravan ran across new information in the letters.
Although Sumo's previous words and actions had been enough to tell him that she missed him and loved him, the contents of the box just drove the point home for him. He was overwhelmed with the things he was feeling; he was always afraid that he loved her more than she loved him - a point which seemed to ring true for months - but the contents of the box made him realize that she loved him just as much. She had missed him during the ten years, just like he had missed her - and he wasn't her second choice, he had always been her first choice.
He lay awake that night watching his wife, his Sumo, sleep peacefully in his arms. For the first time in a long time Shravan Malhotra thanked God, an entity he was always angry with, for giving him his Sumo back.

Shravan and Suman Malhotra were playing a game of some sort, one that they didn't quite understand. They were treading this fine line between being a couple who had just admitted their love to each other and a couple that had been married for a month now. They were quite unsure about where they stood with their physical relationship - on one hand they felt like they needed time to work on this relationship before they got intimate and on the other hand the two of them were sure they were going to die of sexual frustration.
Sleeping in the same bed was agonizing, yet blissful. Their nightly routine was interesting, he always settled into bed before her and she would always come and lay down right up against him. There was a lot of talking, laughing, tickling and kissing - but he always pulled away when things got too heated because he didn't want to push her into something she wasn't ready for. But he wasn't exactly sure what she felt, this was new to both of them and their relationship had been anything but conventional.
He was tempted to just talk to her about it but he wasn't sure how to approach the subject, both of their inexperience in the realm created a lot of confusion. So he decided to just let things be as they were and let things progress naturally. He had waited for ten years, he could wait for a bit longer - as long as it wasn't too long.
Shravan Malhtora sighed and pushed his sopping wet hair away from his forehead before propping the door to the bathroom open and stepping into the bedroom. Suman was folding the pile of clothes on the bed when the door to the bathroom opened, her eyes went to the door and she froze at the sight in front of her.
Shravan wasn't expecting her to be in the room, she was usually downstairs making breakfast at this time so he had walked out of the bathroom with just a towel wrapped around him - something he always did. Shravan noticed that Suman had frozen up, her eyes were wide as they traced his body. She had seen him shirtless before, but never like this, he was usually standing a lot farther, and she would only peek over her shoulder. But now he was right in front of her and she couldn't get herself to turn away like she would have before.
Shravan watched intently as Sumo gulped, her gaze travelling from his face down. Sumo could feel her breathing get heavier as her eyes moved down to his broad shoulders and pectorals, and then to his abs - she felt her face heat up when thoughts of running her hands and fingers down his body hit her. She couldn't help but wonder how his muscles would feel clenching under her hands. Her eyes moved even lower and she realized that he had the perfect V leading into his towel considering his towel hung quite low on his hips.
Shravan let out a soft groan at the way she was looking at him, and all he wanted to do at that moment was close the distance between them and push her back onto the bed she was standing in front of. Suman's eyes shot up to his, realizing that they were closed as his chest heaved. His eyes opened and met hers, a small smile grew on his face when he realized that the desire he felt was reflected back at him. He watched as she turned red and turned away, her breathing coming faster, he smiled realizing that maybe he didn't have to wait for too long now - she seemed to be at the same place as him.

"Do you think I should talk to her?" Shravan asked referring to his mother, his head resting in Sumo's lap as she sat on one side of the couch and ran her fingers through his hair. It had been a long day at work, and even a longer dinner - for the first time in the past two weeks Shravan went down for dinner and ate with the rest of the family.
He communicated with his dad in monosyllables, but just the fact that he was willing to be in the same room as him gave Ramnath hope that Shravan would forgive him for his mistakes one day. Dinner had been awkward, but Pushkar had tried his best to diffuse the tension along with Lala Ji - the two of them made dinner bearable.
"It's your decision ultimately Shravan." Sumo said not wanting to push him.
"But what do you think?" He asked again as she continued to play with his hair.
"I think you should talk to her - no matter what the outcome. I think you need answers and closure." Sumo said.
She felt and heard Shravan take in a deep breath before he talked. "I just - you know when she first came back and I saw her I thought she was being sincere. But she didn't even try to talk to me once, or try to explain herself throughout Pushkar and Preeti's wedding. I was right there - she told me to stay away from you."
"She has made her mistakes too Shravan, we all have, but we gave each other another chance and I think she deserves one too. Maybe she didn't try because she thought you wouldn't listen." Sumo said, her fingers stopped running through his hair as she spoke.
"Maybe I should talk to my father first." Shravan said, his voice sounding confused and unsure.
"I think that's a good idea. Everything will work out." She said, reassuringly.
"Sumo?" Shravan hummed moving his head up slightly in her lap so he could see her.
"Hmmm?" Sumo responded looking down at him.
"Can you play with my hair again?" He asked, a smile erupted on Sumo's face and she nodded, resuming her earlier movement. Shravan sighed happily as she played with his hair.
"I love your hair." She murmured after a while.
"Really?" Shravan asked surprised.
"It's so soft and fluffy." She smiled pushing the strands away from his forehead. "I hate it when you put too much gel in it though."
"It looks wild without the gel." He said.
"It looks good when it's wild." She responded.
"You can always mess it up for me." He teased peering up at her, he noticed the confusion on her face and snickered. "You do realize that my hair looks like a haystack when you kiss me..." He teased. He let out a happy chuckle as she blushed and whacked him.

"I am sorry Shravan - I just thought I was doing what was best for you, I got so caught up in my own prejudices and insecurities that I didn't realize what you needed." Ramnath said, his head was down as he sat on the edge of his bed.
"I told you that I love her, that there is no one else for me and you went to her to tell her to stay away. You saw how I was but you didn't say or do anything, I was so close to loosing her, if Aditya hadn't turned out to be the asshole he is she would have been off in another city right now and I'd be miserable." Shravan said.
"I know I messed up Shravan, and I am sorry but I just thought she wasn't right for you." Ramnath sighed.
"You have tried and almost succeeded at taking away the two people that I really wanted in my life. First with my mother, you kept me in the dark about her, I grew up thinking she had willingly left me - you never told me that she wanted me to come with her - I wouldn't have gone but it would have been nice to know that my mother didn't just leave me. I would have been happier, I killed myself over her rejection everyday and I made myself hate women because it was easier to assume that all women were like that than accept the fact that my mother left me. Then you tried to take Sumo away from me."
"I am sorry." Ramnath cried. "I just didn't want to lose you."
"I almost lost her. Because of you. I am only living here right now because Sumo insists that I fix things with you, she has every right to hate you but she wants me to mend this relationship. But every time I try to forgive you I remember all you've done, all the lies, the manipulation - you used to be my hero, I put you up on a pedestal and it all just came crashing down. I don't know if I'll ever be able to forget what you've done - maybe I'll forgive you with time but stop pushing me please." Shravan sighed. It took a lot of courage and encouragement to talk to his father about this, but he was tired of avoiding his father and Sumo was right in that he needed to talk to him.
Ramnath nodded, tears still in his eyes as Shravan turned around and left the room with a heavy sigh. He slowly climbed up the stairs leading to his room knowing that the woman inside would wrap herself up in his arms and make him forget the sinking feeling in his heart right then.

"You're making icing, not chocolate milk, stop adding so much milk!" Sumo said to Shravan as she put the cake pan in the oven and set it to bake. They were making a birthday cake for Daboo.
"You said the icing is too thick just a minute ago!" Shravan whined.
"Now it's too thin!" She said as she walked over to where he was standing and peered into the bowl. She stuck her finger into the bowl and pulled it out. "It's suppose to be a cream, not a liquid." She said wiping the chocolate icing on his cheek with a smile.
Shravan's eyes narrowed at her smile and he wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her up against him, their chests touching. "That was not nice wifey." He murmured.
"I don't play nice." She smiled looking up into his sparkling light brown eyes.
"Neither do I." He murmured before she felt him drag his wet chocolate covered fingers across her cheek, she let out a gasp of surprise as he chuckled and let her go.
Sumo glared at him as he laughed. "Make the icing thicker!" She said as she stepped away from him.
"This is impossible!" Shravan groaned in defeat.
"It is not."
"Shravan puttar, you are a Molhotra, nothing is impossible for us." Kamini Chachi teased with a smile as she walked into the kitchen. "Why are you two covered in chocolate?" She asked looking at their faces and shaking her head.
The two of them didn't really know how to answer her so they just shrugged as she walked towards the fridge. Sumo went to wipe the chocolate off her face but she felt Shravan's hand grasp her wrist and pull her closer again. She tried to wriggle away as her eyes went to him, she moved her eyes towards Kamini Chachi and then him, almost pleading him to let her go.
He shook his head no as Kamini opened the fridge. Sumo's eyes widened when his eyes flickered down to her lips, he brought his face closer to her and moved sideways. "I am helping you not be covered in chocolate." He murmured before his tongue darted out and she felt him lick her cheek. Her eyes widened and she moved her head away from him. "There is still some left." He whispered quietly.
Sumo shook her head slowly, and tried to pull away from him but his hold was strong, she tried to not look at his eyes which were shining with mischief. He pulled her even closer and held her face in his hand, trailing his thumb from her bottom lip up to her cheek, slowly, causing a shiver to run through her. She felt him wipe the icing off her cheek with his thumb, he slowly brought his thumb up to his mouth, his eyes locked on hers. Her mouth fell open as he licked and sucked the icing off, a soft chuckle left his mouth at the look on her face.
His eyes caught sight of Kamini closing the fridge and he quickly turned towards the counter pretending to be preoccupied as she walked out of the kitchen. Shravan turned back towards Sumo and pulled her against him again.
"Chachi was right there." She mumbled.
"So." Shravan shrugged arching his eyebrow.
"You can't do that here!" She said as if it was obvious.
"Why?" Shravan asked with a smirk. "You're my wife. I can do this and more anywhere." He murmured pulling her even closer and dropping a kiss on her nose. "You're so cute when you blush." He laughed, he loved that the Sumo blushed.
Sumo didn't quite know what to say to him so she pushed him away with a huff and moved to gather the dishes they had accumulated. Shravan got to work on the icing as she walked towards the sink with the dishes.
Shravan worked on making the icing the right consistency as she washed the dishes. When he was happy with the result he walked over to his wife and wrapped his arms around her from behind. Before he knew what was happening she let out a little scream and somehow managed to splash water all over him.
"You scared me!" She said looking to the side so she could see his face, but the look in her eyes and the way she was trying to stifle her laughter told him that she had done it on purpose.
"That wasn't very nice Mrs. Malhotra." He whispered into her ear as he pressed his body completely against the back of hers and placed his chin on her shoulder. He ran his nose along the column of her long neck and smiled when her head tilted back against his chest and her wet hand curled around the forearm of the arm he had wrapped around her.
Shravan placed small kisses beneath her ear before trailing them down her neck and across her shoulder. Sumo sighed and pushed back against him, melting into his embrace. Shravan smirked as he slowly unwrapped his arms from around her and dipped his hands in the sink full of water in front of them, he slowly trailed his wet hands from her stomach up, thoroughly soaking through her shirt. It was supposed to be playful, but Sumo let out a small moan as his hands grazed the sides of her breast and all of a sudden something snapped between them.
His hands started trailing up and down her body, sensually, in a way that only happened when they got really carried away making out, but the way she responded to his touch with soft sighs and gasps told him that she was more than okay with this. He turned her around to face him and groaned at the look in her eyes, her eyes were dark with desire and he couldn't help but pull her closer and kiss her.
Her own hands found their way to his stomach, her fists clenching the material of his shirt, pulling him closer as their lips moved together. She trailed her fingers over his stomach, making the muscles clench under her touch. His hands trailed down her back as he picked her up and lifted her onto the counter so he didn't have to bend down to kiss her. He pulled her all the way to the edge of the counter and pushed her legs apart so he could step between them, their lips stayed locked the whole time.
She didn't quite realize what she was doing but her hands somehow found their way under his shirt and she trailed her fingers over his stomach, moaning at the way they moved under her touch. Her fingers scratched the skin lightly causing him to moan loudly. Her lips were eager against his as his hands travelled up and down her torso. They broke away gasping for her but his lips didn't leave her body, they just trailed down her neck and across her collarbone.
She let out a throaty whisper of his name as he sucked on her pulse point, he pulled away reluctantly, resting his forehead against hers. He looked into her eyes and realized that there wait was coming to a close soon if they kept getting caught up in the moment like this.
