So the tuesday DevAkshi rule has officially been broken🥺😆
The episode was a battlefield
But if you look at the situation from the characters ' perspective, you can't point out who is wrong who is not.
Sonakshi's Perspective
A new bride, much loved by her husband who knows she is not whole heartedly accepted by her MIL, and for her husband her MIL's happiness matters the most, tries like every new bahu, to adjust with the new customs and culture. Specially being aware of the differences in Bengali and Dixit family traditions, she goes one extra mile to fit it.
Nobody is trying to understand that she is trying to get accustomed to the new surroundings, by trial and error.
Little does she know that there is no scope of errors in the house.
She enthusiastically agrees for the fast without knowing the conditions, regrets later but obviously she cannot back out now. Otherwise her MIL will think that she cannot resist staying away from Dev. And pshhtt, romancing with your partner is a taboo in the family, remember?
Dev cannot understand this emotional turmoil of fitting in Because he is not in the same situation as Sona. There is always this baggage on a girl to be the ideal bahu of the family and Sonakshi has taken this burden literally. She wants to do everything at once.
When Dev walks out of the room just like that to question Ishwari, it immediately undo all that Sonakshi did. She knows Ishwari will feel that Sonakshi poisoned his mind, and she was right.
Sonakshi thinks Ishwari questioned her about the fast and she had to take a decison then and there. She didn't think Dev would be upset with it, because she thought it would a control exercise for her. . She forgot Dev will have to control himself as well.
Dev's Perspective
He has finally married the love of his life, everything is sorted now. Suddenly all the misunderstandings have started cropping up and he doesn't know the reason behind it. For him, Maa maan gayi and Sonakshi is married. What is the problem then?
How can he understand the tense undercurrents between Ish and Sona when he hasn't witnessed any. Sonakshi told maa told her about the rules, he immediately thought Sonakshi was being forced. He goes out to ask his mother but returns back after hearing heavy emotional dialogues that you don't trust your mother, ye wo.
Had Ishwari not been guilty, she would have immediately said "Beta, if Sona cannot keep it, mai baat karti hu us se ke fast rakhne ki zarurat nahi hai"
Poor Dev, in his quest to balance wife and maa he himself is confused. Once he knows it was Sonakshi's decision, he rightly questions her whether he did not have the right to decide? The proximity rule was not only for her, it involved him as well. Dev is right. Noone is thinking about him at this moment.
Ishwari's perspective
She doesn't have a problem with Sonakshi as an individual or her bahu. She has a problem with Dev's love for her, she fears it will replace her importance in his life. First, like a typical MIL she says Sonakshi must have sent you (here she is denying Dev is changed by convincing herself that Sonakshi must have influenced him but she is also aware of Sona's nature) but much to her disappointment, Dev says he came without thinking.
"Tujhe soch ke aana chahiye tha"
This is even more scary for her that Dev questioned her without Sonakshi doing some typical chugli. He is giving her importance on his own.

Bijoy's perspective
Bijoy remembers how Sonakshi has gone through her lowest phase because of the heartbreak. He thinks his daughter is being walked over because her love for Dev is her weakness and Dixits are taking advantage of it. It will take some time for him to understand that Dev loves Sonakshi too much to hurt her intentionally. His pride and ego make him act like a typical Saas or vamp of the saas bahi show😆 But, to think from his perspective, he has always pampered Sonakshi and he can't see her struggling to adjust with everything. Both Dev and Bijoy won't understand the need to fit in.Asha understands this because, again, she is a woman.
