I had asked this question in Bollywood forums yesterday but I got few replies there maybe because it's a Bollywood forum hence I thought it would be appropriate to ask here in Debate Mansion.. so here it is..

Calling a lead actress who is older than the lead actor in terms of age by a comment 'she looks like a mother/sister to him' is it sexist? I have seen many people here, on YouTube and on many SNS saying that. Not just virtually but in real life too people call out on actresses like this way. For example, in the upcoming movie ADHM regarding Ash and RK; in Gunday with PC and RS, in Wake up Sid with KSS and RK and many more..

Your thoughts..

I think it is..we have the so-called "superstars" including an aged AB and Rajnikant who did or still do roles opposite much younger women, forget the crop of 50+ Khans..but Aishwarya opposite Ranbir is suddenly pukeworthy? Double standards alert!!

You summed it up with "Double Standards Alert" 👏

It is cultural thing very dominant in India, but not exclusive to India. I have heard comments like that in western and other cultures too. "Cougar or Cradle snatcher " ring a bell?
