How hard is it to enter BW. Are acting students barred from AUDITIONS?

What do people who study acting and want to venture in film do?

Do they just opt for theatre and small productions. There are some really good films and actors that deserve promotion. Unfortunately the films are not promoted to the public so many do not know. It flops.

I can not think of any actor under the age of 25 years old. Is that demographic totally ignored in BW film?

SRK 'FAN' was a perfect opportunity to give the role of fan to a younger actor. Even then they are sidelined.

You have to keep a heart of rock to absorb all kinds of rejections, humilation, mocking when u as a newbie goes for auditions of films.

The ones who survive this storm, does get a chance. But i don't think any promotion can change the fate of films/stars who got talent.

Without promotiion seen a wom spread craze for Satya, a film which brought Manoj bajpai to everyone's attention, although he was liked for his role a Sunil in tv serial swabhiman. Same goes for Ashutosh Rana.

Manoj did get films, he couldn't make big. Everybody does get chance, you have to conquer audience's choice, rest will be history.

I am not saying promotion is a substitute for talent.

However Promotion is very important. The more promoted the film the more people know about it and will know a talented actor.

There are a lot of talented actors out there but people hardly know of them because they lack promotion in the media.

Mostly if someone goes thru auditions only then usually they get significant roles like lead's 3rd important friend.

I guess it is harder for male outsiders than females
For the girls if they r decent actors and/or exotically beautiful they get the entry tickets as less girls from BW families make it as opposed to boys

That's a good point, but it's as if Bollywood hardly goes for outsiders. Bollywood is like a family business..it keeps getting passed on and on from generation to generation. 😆

But guys do get a chance, there are numerous films released every year that dont star any popular actor. If the movie storyline is good they will get noticed. Ex: pyar ka panchnama
