It is not easy to predict what will happen after 20 years, after the Khans are gone there will be superstars from the younger lot.

No I know you are not undermining- facts are facts! Now new actors that come are much more talented than they did back then, I can't even imagine the Khan's even trying to pull off films like Barfi or Rocket Singh in their start of their careers. The demand is changing as people become more educated. None of those films QSQT or DDLJ would work in this time, makers have to think twice before making movies- feminist issues, the stalking thing that heroes encouraged back, religion issues then abhi kuch nahi chalega 😆 there is no sure shot formulas to make films now hence there will be no supertars from now on. 😳

But also, the problem is, there is no guaranteed security now. In the 90s, you had a couple of actors, say 10 around whom the whole industry revolved. Even if they gave 2-3 flops in a row, they'd managed to sustain, because there was no one else.

Aaj kal toh, it's like, this one flops, koi nahi, kissi aur ko leh legein. Launching new stars is like the trend of 2010 onwards. Even successful people like Salman and Aamir launch new kids in their own productions. They're secured enough to do it, fair enough; but it's growing competition for others in the same field. There are now 10 more newcomers you have to compete with every year, not only in terms of being better, but also bagging more movies. A Khan or Akshay giving a flop 10 years ago might not have been affected, but say a new kid giving a flop today might mean the end of his career. It's too different a competition. And because you're not always in the public's mind, it's also a fickle fan base. Aaj mera fan, kal kissi aur ka. There's no loyalty.

Also, as a young moviegoer, I'd like to give others as much credit as I give myself. I go watch movies for content, not stars, as much as I like/dislike them. I guess a whole lot of the younger population is the same, at least in urban settings. 20 years from now, we're still going to be the same. As a result, there'll be no blind loyalty left.
