Why did Juhi do EK RISHTAA?

Why?

It had a 10 min role... that too of no importance

she had romanced Akshay in MR AND MRS Khiladi a year or two ago... and had Phir bi dil hai Hindustani with SRK right around the same time.. . then why?

And she hated multistarrers, but here she had Karishma as lead

after back to back flops

juhi's career as a leading actress ended in late 90s- 2000

Phir bi dil hai Hindustani was her last bet to survive and that tanked too

that was her last movie as a leading lady

no one offered her leading roles after that

it is not like she was being offered k3g and she picked this role in Ek Rishta over it- she was not being offered any leading roles

also she got married and she herself preferred to focus on family and do character-roles

she also played ajay devgn's sister/bhabhi in Son of Sardar i guess and she romanced him in Ishq

she also played SRK's bhabhi in Paheli

she has done lots of those basically post 2000

The role in Paheli had meat, and she was a co-producer. The role in SOS came years later, and had her do comedy. She did a lot of lead roles in parallel cinema in between actually.

I will never understand why she did this role in Ek Rishtaa... she admits she was proud and all... was it produced or directed by her friends?

i read an interview where juhi was a bit disappointment with her role in ek rishta, she said she was promised a lengthy good role. but was chopped off to karishma. also the story was more abt amitabh and akshay's bonding rather than the ladies. Juhi didn't promote the film. After that she lost out on leading roles and kept doing supporting roles. she excels in comedy roles frankly. she is damn good in that...her two movies released on 2007 bas ek pal and saare saath phere. bas ek pal despite a great performance she couldn't touch the chord while saare saath phere she rocked the whole movie with her comedy sense n the film was a success too..made on a shoe string budget.

P.S. I also like juhi, i think she was quite beautiful in her time but due to the lack of attention to her career she fizzled off soon...urmm but that's the story of most of heroines of 90's so...
