Okay so I won't say that the point gul was trying to make was wrong or it made no sense irrespective of how dragged and preachy the whole thing became but what was surprising today for me was that after all that hoo haa and all the speeches given by everyone on this show trying to raise a point why was it that only the brothers were doing this aarti and not priyanka...why is that only the so called "waaris'" the sons get to do the aarti and not the daughter ...So what exactly did madam gul do why creating this whole woman thing when she couldn't practice just the smallest thing on the show...What's the point of all this fake put up on even a show when you can't practice what you preach...

I knew this post was going to be about this before i even opened it. I agree it was a bit awkward, especially because she had also brought the ganpathy murthy in with the brothers.

They wanted to do the dramatic kinda scene with the brothers thats why i guess.

I think maybe due to religious sentiments...until there's a male head in the family, he does the Aarti with his wife...I feltt Tej should've done it alone otherwise Pinky-Shakti

But if they always prefer younger generation like in first episode too, then I think brothers doing it makes sense... coz I've never seen a female in any household doing it until male members are there.

Dadi doing it could have also made sense as she is the eldest and also the head of family.

not everything has to be associated with Gender Equality

Why exactly should it not be about gender equality...did Ganesh jee come and tell you I give permission only to the boys to do this aarti...also let's not forget the fact how the previous few episodes it was being preached and preached and preached how the times are changing and women deserve equality...

Neha I do it in my family when we always have my elder cousin and my grandfather around. Earlier it used to always be my grandfather but for some reason he made me do it a few years ago and since then its always been me even If I am reluctant because the hands can get a little uncomfortable after a point because of holding the aarti 😆
There's no such rule really. Anyone can do it so I think they could have shown us all four of them doing it.

I agree with the topic maker. I also found it odd.
And it's a very pertinent question in recent times. Especially after all the brouhaha over whether women should be able to visit Sabarimala and Haji Ali Dargah and what Trupti Desai did by entering the Shani Bhagwan temple.

I find it especially relevant because I live in one of Kerala's neighboring states and have always be dismayed over the fact that only prepubescent and postmenopausal women can visit Sabarimala . Though I would not like to take such an arduous pilgrimage myself, it bugs me that the choice is not open to me in the first place. And also for all those women who would like to go and can't.

This is solely my opinion and I do not intend to hurt anyone's sentiments. 😳 This is of course a never ending debate over which women themselves have differing opinions...so, peace out ⭐️
