Ok, so I was basically maneuvered (very cleverly if I may add) by my good friend Fatty into attempting a fan-fic on Atul-Angie. This is my very first attempt at writing anything in my life ever other than the usual papers for English class. I hope it's at least a halfway decent read. As of now, I just started with a few ideas that came into my head. Don't know for sure how the story is going to head on from here.I'm basically just trying to go with the flow. But, I'm going to try and do my best to do justice to this totally adorable couple!😳
A special thanks to Vas for encouraging/scolding me into getting started, cutting my procrastination attempts short. Massive Atul Bear hugs🤗 🤗🤗to Mehak, Fatty and Vas for bearing with my ramblings about writer's block.'
Please do comment, and any kind of suggestions, and feedback-positive or negative is most welcome.
🤗A huge thanks to Vas for this wonderful sig🤗

Chapter 1: A childhood of neglect and hurt
Yes! She had done it!! After getting B's the entire term'she had finally managed to get straight A's!! She had struggled so hard for this, but finally, it had all paid off! Dad was going to be so proud of her! She turned to Ridzy and saw that she looked upset, and had tears in her eyes. "What happened, Ridzy?,"she asked.
"Di! I've been doing pretty well all term, but I don't know how I ended up with a B in the Math this time. Papa's going to be so disappointed in me. How will I face him??'"
Angie wiped her tears with one hand, and put an arm around her. "Don't worry, Ridzie!! Dad won't be disappointed in you! He knows you've worked very very hard, maybe it was just a little bad luck this time. Everything's going to be fine! Now come on and give me a BIG smile, ok?'"
They had finally reached home. On the porch, Ridzy turned to her and tried to muster a smile through her tears. Angie smiled back, and gave her a big hug. They both turned to see Shashank opening the door, and walking out onto the porch. "So how was the big day, girls?? I know both my daughters must have done me proud!"
Angie beamed at him, and was just about to hand him her report card, when suddenly Shashank seemed to notice Ridzy's tear stained face. "Kya hua Riddhima beta? Why are you crying?? Come here." He took Riddhima by the hand, and led her inside, leaving Angie on the porch clutching the report card in her hand, with a grin still frozen on her face. She looked down at her report card, and stared at all the A's on it. A tear fell on the sheet of paper in front of her, and she realized with a strange sense of detachment that she was crying. She brushed the tear away, and walked in.
Dad was in the living room, with Ridzie on his lap showing him her report card and crying. He was patting her head, and trying to console her. "No Papa! I've let you down!! I know I've disappointed you! You're just trying to make me feel better!" She leapt off his lap, and ran into her room crying.
Angie walked over, and sat down next to him. "Dad?" she started, but he cut her off, "Did you say something to her?? Why is she so upset?! Anjali beta, you're the older sister! You should have tried to make Riddhima feel better! As it is, she's so sensitive. The poor thing, she's so upset over her report card."
Anjali tried again, "Dad, my re..."
Shashank suddenly stood up. "I know!! I'll go out and get her favorite ice-cream! That will definitely cheer her up! Meanwhile, you go and sit with her, Anjali'she must be feeling really low right now. Try to cheer her up, ok? I'll be back in 20 minutes!" he said. Shashank grabbed his car keys and left, leaving Anjali staring after him.
She walked into the room that she and Ridzy shared. Riddhima seemed to have cried herself to sleep. Anjali walked over to her bed, and stared down at her. She was such a sweet little thing, her adorable little baby sister. She always had a smile on the face, caring, and loving to a fault almost. Then why did she feel such resentment towards her? Why did Dad only seem to care that Riddhima was upset about her result?? He had never even once asked about HER result!! Did he even remember?? Did she matter so little to him that everything paled in front of little Ridzy?? She had slogged so hard all term just to get these grades! Just to see that pride shining in Dad's eyes, especially for her! And he hadn't even BOTHERED to ask about her result!! Did she even EXIST for him at all?? She realized then that she was still clutching the report card. She looked at it, slowly crumpling it into a little ball, and threw it in the trash can. She cried herself to sleep that night....yet again.
PRESENT DAY
Sanjeevani: First day:
Angie maneuvered the car into a parking spot in front of Sanjeevani and stepped out. She watched Ridzy paying off the cab driver. "Serves her right", she thought. "Miss Goody two shoes! She'd been trying to suck up to Dad this morning yet again. Did she really think she was going to get a ride to the hospital after that?"
Riddhima suddenly spotted her and ran over. "Di!!! Why didn't you wait for me?? Look! I had to end up taking a taxi!'
Angie gave her somewhat of a condescending smile and said, "Ridzie, what are you talking about?? I WAS waiting for you!! But then Nani told me that you'd given me the go ahead to drive off by myself and you'd show up later. And then I also noticed you were talking to Dad, so I figured you were probably busy."
Riddhima looked confused, "What? I never said that, di!"
Angie cut her off, "Never mind that now, Ridzie!! Shouldn't we be rushing in now?? I think we're getting kind of late, don't you think?"
Locker room:
Angie and Riddhima walked in and saw that two other interns were already present there. One guy and one girl. Angie barely spared them a glance, and walked over to her locker. As she opened it, she saw Ridzie out of the corner of her eye going up to the other interns and introducing herself. "Typical," she thought to herself, "Off she goes, yet again, to show off to even more people what an amazingly 'sweet' person she is. Sometimes I wonder how people don't develop diabetes with this much 'sweetness' around them."
Suddenly, a loud voice broke into her musings, "Arey haan! I also barely managed to make it in time this morning! At the very last minute, I found out that our local Anti-Smoking Association had scheduled a very important meeting early in the morning from 7 a.m to 9 a.m."
Angie turned and saw that the guy was talking to Ridzy and the other girl, while gesturing animatedly with his hands.
"I had to wake up so early in the morning!" he continued, "Upar se, meri landlady! She was yelling at me in the middle of the night again about my plants making 'noises' and not letting her sleep. She is such a daayan, I tell you!! How in the world did she hear 'noises' coming out my plants?? I'm telling you, those were her very own snores she was hearing, NOT my plants!!"
Riddhima and the other girl burst into laughter. The guy started laughing with them, and suddenly turned and saw her. Still smiling, he walked over to introduce himself. Offering a hand, he said, "Hi, I'm Atul."
