Top HW film made 1500 million dollars world wide.
Top Indian film made 100 million world wide.
Yet the indian super stars are well in the top 10 highest paid lists.
Shouldnt a good percentage of production cost be set aside for other talents ,technicians and production costs?
Every article this year is saying the samething.
Invest in making good films..Showing the public their favorite stars once or twice a year will yield diminishing returns to the producer..His profits shrink and the stars' pockets swell.
If by Indian superstars you mean the Khans, Akshay they dont charge much fees upfront. They take profit sharing. Which is fine as when someone has losses in the distribution chain then they compensate the loss too like SRK did to Dilwale distributors. They are up there in the top 10 as they make more money from endorsements and other businesses. Thats thanks to the Indian economy which is one of the biggest in the world. So every kind of star benefits.
But yes if you mean some others like Hrithik, Ranbir, Deepika who charge huge fees upfront then yes I do agree they must charge reasonable fees or take profit sharing.
