Omkara's behaviour towards Riddhima appears childish and immature. To an extent, it is.

However, for those who are demanding sensibility from writers, regarding the circumstances surrounding their break-up, must read between the lines.

The issue is not pink cushions and an hideous bomber jacket. These are examples. At the heart of the matter is: miscommunication, and unwillingness to compromise.

Both Riddhima and Omkara are at fault.

Riddhima, is self-centred and blind to her boyfriend's preferences. This is not a crime. I have been guilty of imposing my likes and dislikes on my SO, time and again. It's what you do in a relationship, because you feel that you have that right on your partner.

Obviously, sometimes one can go overboard and it is the responsibility of the other half to draw the line.

This is where Omkara falls short. Why isn't he upfront about his feelings?

Maybe, because he does not want to hurt her feelings. Yet, one would assume that after being in a relationship for three years, a person would be comfortable enough to voice their likes and dislikes without fear of being judged or misunderstood.

Perhaps, it is because they have been in a long distance relationship for so long and only now, they are truly beginning to see each other for who they are. Maybe, they've never really known each other at all. Omkara has idolised Riddhima. He loves the idea of her, of what she stands for, what he perceives as virtues. However, when you really love someone, you love them for their imperfections as well.

You cannot love people by halves, and this is the sad truth that Omkara must realise.

It would only take a simple, calm conversation to make things clear.

Just as he cannot change for her, he cannot expect her to change for him either, however with negotiation, a happy medium can be reached.

In any case, if they do break up over something so petty, then it must be obvious that there was no true desire to make things work out in the end, because if there's one thing that I know for certain, it is that we fight for the people we love.

And if he can give her up so easily, he never loved her in the first place.

There's a saying which I think perfectly explains why Om doesn't speak up: "We accept the love we think we deserve". In other words, Om sees himself as not important enough or good enough to ask for more than what Riddhima is giving him.

Also, great analysis of the current situation.

Nice post, Deeply cleared, many points.

Because relationship is three years older, or Thoughts Gap coming, because Individuality, +independence touching, by, Ridihma, Because she thinks in Love She is Her Right, other side Omkara who is Artist, thinks (sure Artist sensitive from Heart, or he thinks Ridhima understands this) his mind As he Was He is, Ridhima accepted him like That. Similer as he accepted Ridhima.

Same Shivay maybee he does business, But He created space, for His Brother also, means individuality not touched, by his brother, but sure Ridhima is Girlfriend, so, she moving, some steps, without conversation, omkara. acc to her omkara will accept, her gifts easily.

Or he now seeing, His individuality touching, by his Girlfriend, Which doing him, little irritation, or he talking about this, Shivay .means he trying to clearing, whats going on him. it means his mind working this relationship

Omkara point, as i Ridihima accept him like that, Ridihima, point, because both life is going to unite, so

she have many rights. so need to be more understand about each other. depends on individual, how much we can give space to our partner feelings, or that not effect our relationship. if relationship effecting, then need to talk. or we have to see, can we accept how much change,which our partner saying without pressurizing own or if we accept, our thoughts,our Heart Mind that will accept, From Heart. .if yes, then relationship life will be healthy. otherwise, relationship will be weak.or disputes gaps will sure come.

I agree with you. Obviously when we really love someone, we care about their feelings, which is why, we'll drink poison with a smile, if it makes our loved one happy. But, never speaking up is also being unfair to yourself as well as your partner, because you aren't being honest with them.

And, we all know that Omkara prides his honesty above all else. Isn't his omission a white lie then?
