Torture of Bani Walia
Jai Walia walks in to his restaurant, he looks at at an empty table which had half eaten plate of curry sitting on it. He sees Bani and calls her over, "Waitress please remove this plate kindly and clean the table.'
Bani: "But sir..."
Jai Walia: "I asked you to clean up not give me excuses. Can't you see there is no one sitting here. " In a loud bellowing voice, "Move it right now."
Bani close to tears, quickly takes the plate away and is coming back to wipe the table clean only to find the customer having a go at Jai Walia, "What is the meaning of this? Why has my half eaten meal taken away? Can't a man go to the washroom without worrying about what is going to happen to his food?'
Jai walia: "I am sorry sir. I will find out who did and make sure they come an apologize to you."
A young couple sitting next door, the woman points to Jai Walia and says, "Actually sir you asked the waitress to take the plate away. You didn't even let her tell you the man had only gone to the bathroom. I think you owe this man an apology and compensate him by providing with free dinner."
Bani stood rooted to the spot while Jai walia glared at her, he turned to the man, "I am sorry. If you take the seat the waitress will kindly bring you another meal." Jai Walia stormed past Bani muttering, "The man's dinner cost will be cut from your salary." Bani smirked and said, "Yes sir."
Bani made sure the man got treated to the best meal in the house.
After her shift finished, Bani went outside and waited to catch the bus. Suddenly the same man whose plate Bani had taken away came up to her. He handed her an envelope and said in kind manner, "I couldn't leave without paying for the meal. I know that manager's type. The free meal he gave me will really be paid out of your salary and I know I won't be able to sleep knowing that someone might not have food to eat because their meagre salary went towards paying for someone else's mistake.
On reaching home Bani opened the envelope to find a thousand dollar bill inside. The meal had cost only 3oo rupees. There was a little card which said, "The extra is for your excellent service."
Bani put the 1000 rupee note near the idol of Ram and Sita and prayed as a habit for the well being of Ganga and Jai Walia.
