There's a choice that Shravan and Sumo took the day they met in the school corridor as destiny planned the shy nerdy Chashmish with his Rubik cube bumped smack into the School queen bee or rather the Phoolan Devi of the school 😆

but these where choices that sumo made him take indirectly it's never been him it's been the people around him making choices for him he had no issues

but when one fine day his world collapsed the choices he made or rather was forced upon him started burdening him

This is a boy who's confused about his identity is he sirf Shravan or like dhaboo called him out on his lie that he's not Suman didi ka Shravan can I hug dhaboo virtually for that sixer of a line
That one scene is too good to be explained

Now here is a guy who confidently told the girl who he hates apparently In his pea sized brain LOVE is translated as hate when it comes out through the mouth LOL this was totally my descision indirectly I'm doing this because I chose you not that you picked me that's a very important statement by the Shravan Malhotra

There u have it...the feeble voice of Shravan...he wants to have one thing his way amid the cesspool of emotions he finds himself in...He said the other day...not with hatred but with some wistfulness that at one stage being married to her was his dream and now that dream (at hand) is not giving him any joy. He can't not make that choice but again the choice cannot make him happy becos he knows that Sumo has not chosen him. He wants to be her choice not her "fait accompli". However since that does not happen, he makes it look that he took the decision, to have some vestige of "power" in the situation.

Benna, interesting point here..At some level this thought is very unsettling too...which is why this whole aspect in the narrative has raised some very uncomforatable questions. I will elaborate later due to paucity of time but briefly my point is...this desire to be a choice is understandable but this desire to be first choice is actually a facet of chauvinism and regressive thinking. I know we are looking at this as a story and romantic love does tend to challenge many notions that are uncomfortable...I hope the Cvs address this issue sensitively..in the Aditya phase..

Culminating all this together please tell me guys why wouldn't he try to drown himself in alcohol and clearly I'm against alcohol as an escape mechanism but the dudes mechanism of escapism is RUNNING but this time he's running by staying put am I even making sense

Guys relax there was some classic EDKV scenes yesterday and certain moments today too there's hope still let's not give up on the gadha so soon

Now coming to my two cents, Shravan has had a terrible childhood. Kids who's parents are always fighting or are into a custody battle, basically those who don't have a normal childhood turn out to be highly insecure adults. I'm saying this from experience, I have cousins who went through this. But being brought up with us, they may be sorted individuals but the basal insecurities and fear of abandonment is always lingering.

Same is the case with Shravan. At every step of the way, the people he held most dear have throw him away like trash, or used and manipulated him. In his view point and to some extent it holds true. We are normal and psychologically healthy individuals and hence judging his actions as stupid and MCP-ish is easy for us. His actions although very wrong and very MCP, to him its a backup mechanism. Its a way to thwart any further pain coming to him. Consuming alcohol is running from your problems, but he has faced his problems a long time, he has been hurt and has taken it. Its now when he can't any more he has taken to nasha as a pain reliever. I'm strictly against it, but this guy does not function normally. He needs help and I'm surprised no one has seen red yet!

He believes he is unworthy. Unworthy of love, happiness and peace. I dread the day he believes he is unworthy of life. And that is the day he will need his Sumo, and I'm sure she will be there for him.
