Anything and everything monotonous does seem to become a little too predictable or overly boring at times. And whilst a happy atmosphere does manage to lighten up moods and keep you positively involved in a show, the constant air of everything happy happy can become a bit unrealistic too.
I particularly liked bhua today. It adds a new edge to the show. How the equilibrium in a household can rock at times when two distinct perceptions or ideologies clash and how you work together in partnership with each other to create the balance again. We know why the bhua is so overprotective about her kids and in this case especially about Sanchi and her potential marriage. She had been cheated in the same field which has caused her ability to trust on people to rust a little. Totally explainable and it fits the context quite aptly.
I was starting to wonder actually if the show was going to randomly forget about soicetal norms and the conservative apprehensions of rajshri-show families and start showing Sanchi and Aryan going on dates and outings all of a sudden. And I'm glad it didn't go that way because it would've turned out to be a blunder almost. đ The conversation Bhua had with Sanchi and even the one the ladies of the Sethia family had about Daadi's marriage days, keeps the plot constant in its context.
In situations like this, you rather they introduce the ifs and buts related to arranged marriage alliances and then show the journey on how certain norms can be adjusted or how certain taboos or apprehensions can be overcome. They totally have the audience involved here on this journey and arent skipping bits and pieces or changing routes all so suddenly, for which I'm actually grateful.
