Namaste London is my favorite romantic movie of all time. It had all blends of denial, love, discovering love, comic relief, beautiful people on screen, good acting(Kat actually acted lol) and all. It did not had Arjun doing extreme things to win Jas, it was all organic and natural. And that is what is important in love story, it should be organic, not all happy happy- no war type couples like in Vivah.
Jab We Met: Geet was just excitement personified. Story was also unique, this movie was a just breathe of fresh air after so many generic love stories. Story was good, direction was decent and songs were gold. definitely a romantic classic.
Barfi!: Do I even need to say anything??? The fact Ranbir and Priyanka barely spoke yet the chemistry was amazing, plus Ileana-Ranbir was beyond cute.
Socha Na Tha: Another Imtiaz movie, this movie was beyond unique. Also the acting and execution was good.
Haase Toh Phasi: This movie is cute. Sid was at best with that lazy cute boy role and Parineeti rocked it as Meeta. The way two unconventional people fall in love is really engaging.
Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar: Another of my personal favorite. Especially I was in class ten, and could relate to the story. The innocent love and the passion on display was so beautiful and engaging.
Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na: The ultimate young love story, it was such a rage when it released. The story, the chemistry, acting, direction, screenplay and music all rocked. This movie will go down in history as one of the best romantic movie ever made in BW.
Wake Up Sid: I dont consider it an out and out romantic, as it is more about discovering the self type of movie. But yes it had a very strong romantic back drop, and Ranbir-Konkoka remains one of the most realistic and beautiful onscreen couple this Millennium.
Lootera: It was an incredible movie. The chemistry, acting and beauty of the movie is beyond words. Slow, bit dark yet such passionate love story is very scarce in BW.
Jannat: The movie because of which I started liking Emraan Hashmi. Although this is not exactly a romantic movie, but the romance isa strong element in this movie. Emraan as a crazy lover was convincing and Sonal in Jannat for me is the most beautiful girl ever. I wanna marry Zoya!!!
The Lunchbox: Seriously no one remembers this movie here?? The movie may not be a conventional love story, but there lies its beauty. A unconventional, bit lying to the infidelity side yet innocent. Plus acting was just perfect from the cast.
Dev-D: This is a romantic story right?? Isnt it. I don't think Dev D needs any write up, the best adaptation of Devdas, acting was brilliant, music was revolutionary and story telling was at its best.
Tanu Weds Manu: One of the realistic love story in this list. Everything about the movie was good and Kangana was outstanding as Tanu, and who does not love Raja Awasthi😆
Band Baaja Baarat: Romantic movies tend to get boring, but BBB was different it was thoroughly entertainment and romantic yet masala flick. With awesome chemistry between the leads. Ranveer would not have had a better debut.
2 States: One of the better movies of 2010s, a meh novel was converted into a good movie. Arjun and Alia looked very good together, the story was believable and the coming of age theme fir Arjun also complemented the movie well.
Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewani: One of the unusual romantic movie with right amount of sensationalism and cheesyness. Although movie had themes of coming of age, friendship and finding self, it was still a romantic comedy at its core. Deepika was really good, and her Naina will be one of the most loved character of all time.
Raanjhanaa: A failed romance theme unlike most in the list, it is still a brilliant movie with excellent blend of comedy, tragedy and drama.
The young innocence romance between Zoya and Kundan is the best thing about the movie, and the fact they looked so convincing made it beautiful.
Love Aaj Kal: Although I did not find the Saif-Deepika part of love story that good, but the sardar Saif(young Rishi Kapoor) and Giselli Monteiro as Harleen was really beautiful and believable story. Anyone who enjoys a good romance will like this part of the movie
