Why their deep relationship is failing. Nobody's fault(not even CVs!)

Shraman are childhood friends. Possibly each others first love. Such love runs really deep. They have loved each other on the back burner for a LONG time.

Why then is their relationship failing so badly? Ten years of space also did not mend it. Is it because the CVs messed up royally? Is it Ramnaath? Or something else altogether.

My analysis is that it is not because of the working thing or self respect thing or ego thing. It is definitely not a man-woman thing.

It is only because of the difference in their personality type. So Ramnath is right on some level. (However Ramnath's marital problems seemed to be due to his suspicious sensitive nature. Nirmala appears like a normal person to me. She left her son but may be she had very little choice in the matter. Things like this happen all the time. I know of bad divorced fathers who do the unthinkable things to their own children including separating them from mothers. Ramnath-Nirmala did not seem to share a deep friendship earlier like Shraman.)

Shravan is basically introvert. He has very few friends and is extremely loyal to them. It is a great effort for him to make new ones and trust them. He would mostly feel exhausted after interacting with people for some time. I know several people like this(including myself!). Since he is extremely loyal he would be sensitive to his peoples needs(including his fathers).

Suman is an extrovert. She loves to surround herself with people. People she may not even be close to. She goes out of her way to meet new people and doesn't think too much about them. It is good for business. Probably in life too it is good because she would be energetic and friendly. She would be feeling invigorated by being part of a gang. She would have no choice but to fit in. It is her personality and she can do nothing to change it.

Alas! Extrovert people would feel stifled when they stay with introverts. They would struggle to 'break free'. She handled this problem in high school by hiding him away. Cooking up stories about image and what not. She did care about popularity and image. But not in the way I was earlier thinking. Popularity + great image = lots of people to hang out with. The reality is she needed a lot of people and Shravan would never let that happen if she always hung out with him. In a way he holds her back from her oxygen, people. Same problem exists today as it did ten years ago.

Introverts are also affected by extroverts. They would feel left out and abandoned. They would feel that their partner is walking out on them everyday(Which he perceives his mother actually did). Even if the partner is being herself and not trying to cause harm. Coldness does not affect introverts much. Shravan wouldn't be as disturbed by Suman's coldness. But he would be agitated by her new choice of 'friend', Aditya. I am guessing Shravan is now suffering from depression. Depression makes introverts more 'introvert'ish. I don't think he can come out of his shell ever now.

I think this is the basic problem between Shraman. If they have to resolve it they need to get past this introvert vs extrovert thing. Shravan needs to accept that sometimes Suman might spend time with other people(even if he isn't fond of the aforementioned people). Suman needs to accept that Shravan needs plenty of exclusive together time. Hope both of them have enough maturity to get past it. Bigger hope is that they can actually be happy. Isn't that the most important thing? Together or apart, they need to be happy first.

Of course with the show being all over the place now, for them to even be in the same frame seems difficult! I don't see how the CVs can manage to do the above when both of them are so unwilling to compromise on anything. It sounds impossible.

The hole the CVs have created may be too deep to get out of. Suicide attempts, public humiliation and accidents cannot fix personality differences! But I do appreciate them for giving us such a nice conundrum. Hope this serial doesn't get shelved due to bad TRPs or something. It actually makes you think and is down to earth. Except a few outlandish portions which can be written off as creative license.

Let me know your thoughts please...

Enjoyed reading that 👍🏼 I agree about the conundrum created as well. The character expositions weren't deep enough to play with in the first place and with what has been created, Shravan definitely has more boundaries than Suman. It is easy to play around with a character like Suman. Not so with Shravan. Let's see how the ek dooje ke vaaste formula plays out despite the widening gaps.

Lovely post!
I really like how you have explained everything so well!!

I agree with you but not completely.:)
Yes their personalities are very different so that matters but I feel communication or rather the lack of it plays a major role in the case of ShraMan. If they start communicating, their problems will reduce and so their personalities might not clash as much...

Thanks dear.
Communication is one the things in the black CV hole I am talking about. 🤣
I feel someone should just jail them both and throw away the key

Fantastically written. This is the crux of this issue. Personality types. Well said n well written!!!

Very well written. I agree to a great extent with your analysis. But like PrincessAshvik said, the ShraMan issue is further exacerbated by their lack of communication. Their personalities are different. But that in itself is not the only issue. If you dont communicate well, then you always have issues in a relationship.

TRUST is the key to every relationship and that is the main ingredient in a long term relationship's success. Trust, communication, loyalty and love! If the first 3 are not there, then love wont save your relationship. As an extrovert, married to an introvert I can vouch for this. But the myth about extroverts is that they are very outgoing. Yes they are, but they can be very reserved too. Suman is outgoing, but she is very reserved when it comes to her feelings. That is why it took so much prodding from Preeti to get an answer about what is happening in her life.

Shravan has confided in "Papa" all this time, and Suman has confided in no one regarding her feelings for Shravan. This was the first time she did. Circumstances played a great hand in separating these two. Manipulations resulting in misunderstandings as well. But the greatest issues is their own hesitation. Feelings SHOULD be expressed and in time. Sometimes the moment goes, and the opportunity is gone.

Aditya is the antithesis of Shravan. He waltzed in, he saw something he liked, he perused and he conquered (so it seems). He was simply "single minded". Something Shravan has failed to be a lot of times because of the baggage he carries with him, which makes him view things in a different way. Approach things in a different way. I feel bad for him coz he is a victim of his own way of thinking and his circumstances which have forced him to be this way. He is essentially a shy and quiet guy, but very deep and passionate. Loyal and loving. But sometimes his emotions get the better of him. The very depth of his feelings messes things up for him. He loves deeply and is hurt deeply. Something guys like Aditya normally would not be. To Shravan, this phase he is going through is devastating and will be self destructive.

I think the only way Shravan and Suman can unite is if ONE of them throws caution to the wind and express their feelings. Stop letting fear or loyalty or guilt or pride or anything stop you. Because love is a force of nature. If you try to stop it, it will end up destroying you.

you have set it all out so well.
Thats what ShraMan are, opposite in personality but yet the connect between them is undeniable because they are kindred spirits despite their diametrically opposite personalities and despite having been out touch in the last 10 years.
the problem is factors extraneous to them but at the same time intrinsically linked to their lives and decisions and because of which they were unable to be together.

this itself was a fantastic premise and had the CVs used the already existing issues and past baggage these two had, it was basis enough to develop a beautiful track by itself. Since it would have involved the gradual progression of their understanding of each other and a stronger bond because it would have meant tackling existing devils in their lives which were already enough to begin with,

but the Cvs have chosen multiple convoluted paths to the destination ShraMan and in the process made a maze of tracks, which wonder whether they will even be able to unravel to a logical conclusion

Lol. I did not realise that.

They really need to be locked somewhere with their phones and everything thrown away. They might talk then.

Sigh. I miss Khosla track ShraMan:(
