There is a reason why you are in charge of writing SwaSan in any important thread (I pledge guilty of stalking your FFs and Anniversary threads) you get them so good, and you have a way with words. Love reading your thoughts.
It saddens me that how far we go when it comes to defending our actors in fandom fight. We forget the teachings of our parents and hide behind phones and PCs to degrade fictional (sometime real people) characters. Man, are we that jobless? Is there no limit to our crude languages? And for what? No offense but do we really think these actors gives two hoots about how we fight like dogs to defend them? Its just our own morality we keep butchering.
I never watched the show in its prime or followed religiously, just bits and pieces of SwaSan. I have watched enough shows on Indian telly so I won't dare to say oh this is unique, never presented before on telly coz that will be a gross lie. But there is something about VaHe/SwaSan that pulls me, maybe coz I am following VK since HHL days and they look ridiculously adorable together 😆 maybe coz his character had one of the best redemption hands down, maybe coz he was such a surprising change from door-pin-wala love, manhandling and angry young man cliches. Its him that interested me. Then came Helly, she is amazing off screen, fell in love with her when I watched one of her joint IV with VK during Gerua date. Swara I thought will be typical goodey goodey girl FL, but she turned out such a fighter. Tumhare liye wapas ayi hoon main, she wanted to win him back, but she's the one who backed off when Cavity came coz she cared more about him than her happiness. These two are soulmates, ready to go hell and back and burn the world to stay together.
Sanskaar was always with her, which was again refreshing to see on telly coz we all know the roles of FL's husband has in RS shows *cough Ahem cough* he had always shown so much faith in her, treated her like a human equal to him and not doormat. How can one not fall in love with that? And criminal? Is not the sister of Swara also one, didn't she commit crimes as well? When she can have her happy ending why can't he? She loved Lakshya once upon a time, but backed off coz her sister loved him and he obviously chose her, in anger or not. Was she supposed to mope? If she did. What these so called moral police would have called her then, Home breaker?
Screw these samaj wales. Screw these pseudo intellectuals who think they have a right to pass judgment, I am talking to both real and fictional since your post also address both. Where was these samaj wales when Maheswari DIL was disrespecting them? Where were they when kavya did all those nasty acts? These are selective outrages, they are only worried when a girl not behaving as per their norms. Thats when she become a s**t. (Don't get me even started on male friend wala thing, the logic is as deep as pacific ocean in it. So I have many male friends, they all are my boyfriend? Haainh?! What about the vice versa then)Guess its CVs twisted way of showing in every place you will find worms trying to crawl up your body, but you gotta stay calm and squeash them. Hard. They may not get the lesson, but you protect yourself. No need to pay heed to them.
