I always love Sona-baaba moments , they are such a lovely father-daughter duo ... But today I felt he overreacted .. Just because she is a doctor , she cant learn cooking and he thinks thats a waste of time, Y ? Normally most of us girls who are busy with studies and being away from home during this time, and then busy with job, would only try to learn cooking when we think about starting a new family ...
I really dont find any fault in this . Its always good to stay healthy with home cooked meals , and not to depend on outside food everyday . Of course we can always depend on house help , but there is no harm in learning it , and when he questions Dev , he should remember Sona has grew up seeing her mother taking care of her family very well , so whats wrong with her trying to learn a new skill which she is aware that she is very weak at .

You're right dear, everyone should know how to cook. Even boys should learn.

It was not about cooking..he subconsciously has a feel that sona is going all low self esteem way ..she had conversations with her father a day before too like she doubts that she is good for Dev or not as she does not know ghar ke kaam and all..so as a father he must have remembered that his daughter feels she is not worthy of dev or his family and she needs to add worth to her personality by adding household expertise..
He did not ha e problem with her learning cooking..but he can see whats is foreshadowing..thats why overreaction..

^^ agree ge was indirectly pointing at whatever that was making Shona doubt herself which he suspected was Dev/his mother and he was right. Yes he overreacted but that was because he could see through his daughter's worries and wanted to take it down! He was being a father! Ver unlike some mothers in the show!! -_-

I do not think it was about cooking. it was about the motive. He knew that Sona, being in love, was doing it out of the wrong motives, to please someone else.. this is the most difficult thing to do, pleasing someone else. As it is, it is quite difficult to please our ownselves forget about someone else.

It was so wierd..I wasnt expecting his to react so loudly..well indian society has still not changed that much ..a girl has to get involved with household work even if she is doctor :)

l liked how he reacted.IMO it was much needed.Sona started thinking so low of her.So he reacted.Knowing cooking or not is not a big issue.Good CV's r raising this point. Why always girls need to learn cooking.

Bijoy also said when Asha was doing job. They all helped her.Later Asha decided that she will cook for all.Because she loves it.

He was overreacting because he thought sona is learning cooking just for ishwari... He didn't want his daughter to change for someone.. Or do anything on someone else's will...
